The guy who missed the 120 minute penalty. Cant see him experiencing happyness any time soon. Thoguh they should understand that there are far worse things that can happen to people.
And their millions should cheer them up.

Uruguay without Suarez against the Netherlands.

Meh, can't see a real threat here.

they are better than slovakia and japan, both of whom netherlands only beat by one, and probably better than brazil in that qf.

They have a better chance of getting to the final, than they did of getting to the semi when they gave the penalty away.

Forlan is good.

And they have won the wc twice, the last time with the greatest upset in history, so they can give you a challenge.

Netherlands should win though.

The main thought here is that every nation that ever won the worlds is a great football nation, except for Uruguay.
I think we can take them, but everybody here thinks that Brasil was the only real challenge towards the final. Big mistake.
Have to admit that a replay of the first World cup final would be awesome, but Holland - Germany as a final is a wet dream ;)

Ghana was stronger than Uruguay today.

And well, Ghana is not that strong really. But hey. That's where Uruguays chance lies
Hoping that the Dutch players play unfocussed.

Wow. That was epic.... All the drinking I did, I mean. Game was alright :p

Crazinessssss. Shame to see Ghana go out the way they did. That said, I would rather Holland play a Suarez-less Uruguay than a ultra-motivated Ghana.

That said Uruguay will evicerate us in the semis. I'm saying 5-0.... Maybe 5-1 if we're lucky

BTW, that was an EPIC 2nd half FAIL by Brazil. I don't think I've ever seen a team look so good in the 1st half (where they looked practiclly invincible) and look totally inept in the 2nd. Only piss poor finishing by the Dutch kept the from becoming a 3-1 or 4-1 rout in the last 15 mins. Defense just went totally AWOL, it's almost scary.

As usual a South American team benefits from blatantly cheating (hand of God?). Good luck Holland.

What was cheating about it? The rules state that if you use a hand, then a penalty will be awarded. It was. Therefore no one got away with anything.

The Uruguayan stopped a certain goal. There is nothing certain about a penalty.

Uruguay won by cheating.

The act of intentionally handballing and preventing a goal or scoring a goal by intentionally handballing is heinous, despicable and beeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyoooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddd arguing about.

Yes, it is. And Ghana got the penalty and Suarez a red card for it. It was deliberate cheating, but there you go. I think given the situation everyone would do it though, and you'd be immensly stupid not to.

It would have been cheating if he tried to decieve the ref. But he knew what the consequences were and took them on the chin. Red card penalty those are the rules.

ANd urruguay had a stone cold penalty disallowed in extra time so it would have been harsh for ghana to win it on a pen.

I think it shines a light on your character and confirms that the dirty Argies and Uruguayans are cheats. It makes a mockery of the sporting spirit but hey, what am I doing arguing about this for on a cycling forum
