OK, this is getting ridiculous. I think the problem (apart from not using video technology obv) is that they use inexperienced referees because they want all continents to be represented...
Japanese, Columbian,... referees are not used of games with this speed.

The same as 2010. And Fifa did nothing besides KNOWING better. What a bunch of crooks...

Yop!

And we complain about doping in cycling. Well, at least cycling looks like competition.
This BS soccer Cup is a total mess.

I am a proud cycling fan more than ever now.

What they need is a video ref and a challenge system. Each team has two challenges which can be reviewed when the ball next goes out of play, if the challenge is succesful they don't lose that challenge, if it fails then they have lost one of their challenges thus preventing excessive challenges.

Challenge system is needless. In NFL NBA, tennis, it causes problems as well, especially when its made to favour the team that got the original decision

The video ref should be able to just overrule the ref on obvious decisions, straight away.

Or the ref should be able to call the assistance of the video ref on difficult situations. There's no single reason this doesn't exist already..

Why the hell can they not rectify the score after they realised the mistake ?

That's the bit I don't get.

I have no idea how many video challenges the coach gets, but I happened to see a 'video challenge' during a hockey WC semi-final between Holland and England this afternoon. The ref is miked up, as is the 'video review' official, so that everyone hears what is asked, and what the reply is after the slo-mo's from different angles are shown on screen. The whole procedure was transparent, and took at most one minute for a verdict to be reached. I think it works on the US sports principle that if you're right, you keep the challenge, if you're wrong you lose it. No reason this couldn't work for footy. It just takes the will to do so.

So exactly like in the NFL. I am 100% for that. OFC. :)
BTW guys; the good ´ol Americans use replay since 28 (!!!) years. Yet the Fifa neanderthals still refuse it.
I am sorry, but the only rational reasoning must be that Fifa likes easy-to-fix-games. Netserk is right.

For the die hards, here is a great stats page for all players from 1966-2010!

http://www.spiegel.de/sport/fussbal...maldini-gegen-matthaeus-gewinnt-a-971957.html

You can for example look at Rummenigge vs Rossi in 1982.
As I said earlier, this page confirms it:
Rossi 6 goals on 7 shots-on-target (14 tries including off-target shots), and
Rummenigge on one leg with no bad efficiency either; 5 goals on 7 shots-on-target (24 tries).

Great tool, more examples...
Zico 4-9-26
Socrates 2-3-10
2002-Ronaldo 8-19-34
2002-Klose 5-8-22

Hmm, I don't dislike Klöse, and this stats are amazing, but I really hope he doesn't pass Ronaldo (best player of the past 2 decades)
