Well dont have to worry about this match anymore I see it's over, so only Brazil tomorrow I'll try to put my fingers in my ears

What did pepe do?

And **** him. Now Germany can rest their team for the 3rd game and get a walk in the park in the r16 with Russia or Nigeria.

Pepe flailed a stray hand at Mueller, who went down like a sack of spuds. Then did an odd leaning headbutt whilst Mueller was getting to his feet.
Such a clown. Not that it would make much difference today.

Moving on.
this.

i can understand why pepe headed muller, though.
the thing is, muller is rather big-mouthed.
literally.

What I don't understand with Mueller is he is rolling around on the floor, then when Pepe comes near him he is on his feet at superspeed. SHould have been booked for play acting as well as Pepe being sent off.

Maybe so, but that doesnt mean that Pepe isn't an idiot.

Absolutely... an utter cretin.

Edit to add...trying to remember, was it Rivaldo sanctioned for 'simulation' after the first game in 2002? The same should apply to Mueller, trying to get a guy sent off.

penalty was deserved. Pepe was an idiot. Germany was miles better without even looking good so far.

Man Portugal. Unbelievable we are missing Ibra because of this bunch of idiots.
Only upside is we can see C.Ronaldo cry again

what i don;'t get with portugal is, first, why they start with almeida.
he must be about the slowest striker of the tournament.
another thing is that ronaldo and nani don;'t get along at all, which is a problem because portugal does need both on the pitch.

there was a time when robben and persie didn't get along, but one key to the dutch victory against spain i think is the fact that these two seem to have 'found' each other.

Meh this defeat against germany was never in doubt.
The poor quality of the portuguese team is just the product of a decade ignoring young players.
Anyone up to date with portuguese football knew this team was weak

It wasn't that bad. Only Germany was more effective, Portugal had their chances to score goals. Ok after the red card it's over but it wouldn't have been strange if the score was 2-1 at half time.

agreed.
let's not resort to scoreboard journalism (to use a nice dutchism).

Same for Spain-Holland. Holland was terrible the first half and although the penalty kick wasn't a penalty kick imo, Spain was far better and could have decided the match in the first half. Out of nowhere Van Persie scored the 1-1, which gave Holland a lot of confidence and Spain didn't now what happened anymore. Anyway, I don't see that second half as the new standard for Holland. Will be okay if they face Australia, Chile, Mexico, Croatia, but will be the underdog against the top teams.

a bunch of eredivisie players + rvp/robben is never the favorite. You just have to hope for some miracle up front that's it

Of course but some people seem to think we're a contender right now  Just tried to put it in perspective. That second half is not really going to be representative for the rest of the tournament.

Totally agree with my Dutch colleagues. The second half was an outlier. We will not score five against the Aussies. Or anyone else, for that matter.:D
