That tied score between Russia & Korea is more than well deserved, considering the nature of their scores - I mean - both monumental errors by the goalkeepers

BTW= OCHOA (Mexico's goalkeeper) has been nominated to earn a monument in his homeland- it was outstanding his performance today against Brazil!!!!

Best refereed soccer game I can remember, ever*... A+ for this turkish guy.
That´s how it should be. Not too much yellows, not falling for divers, no blunder descisions... Perfect, players decide the game, not the refs.

And that Goalie, even though some saves happened when he got shot on directly, was the best so far. 5 Saves, no opponent goal....

(* there are certainly more in the past, but since memory fades, this is the best I remember)

Should've sent Silva off near the end. That was a horrible tackle.

For BRA, yes OFC. But this game certainly wasn´t. Everybody gave it all. The ref was superb, as I said right after the game.

My confidence is still as high as when the tournament begun (that Brazil goes to the final no matter what...)
I think people overrates them,Im their big big fan,but if I compare them with e.g. germany :))) their game is very weak.It looked like they play very slow ,maybe Felipao tactics?

Don't expect exciting football from Brazil, the last time I watched them with the wow factor was probably 1986, France - Brazil one of the greatest games of football I have ever seen, since then they have failed to live up to expectations even when winning World Cups, its like everytime tou wacth the Dutch play you expect to see Cruyff and Neeskens, it is time we all agreed that Brazil are no more entertaining than the next team, I no longer see a game with Brazil as a must see match, I am no longer a fan

I am,its just Brasil and thats enough for me.When I see a right or left back to attack,do tricks, and bit of neymar/earlier rivaldo/ronaldinho show i am satisfied.Yesterday,I wasnt satisfied cuz they played even slower than usual and they didnt score even when they had 4! great situations.
edit:thats I am so fvcked on fifa,that I didnt recieve tickets,its sh:t.

Maybe the pressure is catching up on them (squad), I dont know.

Now you know what us Americans suffer through during our NFL and MLB seasons. To quote MLB analyst (and former player) Mitch Williams:

"Skip Bayless...is clueless on the game of baseball... He'd have to look at the instructions on a jock box to figure out how to put it on."

Australia-Netherlands

Australia(Possible): Ryan, McGowan, Wilkinson, Spiranovic, Davidson, Miligan, Jedinak, Leckie, Bresciano, Oar, Cahill

Netherlands(Possible): Cillessen, Martins Indi, Vlaar, Di Vrij, Blind, De Jong, De Guzman, Janmaat, Sneijder, Robben, Van Persie

Can the Oranje break the record from the previous game,i believe so,they should score at least 6 in this one.

My picks for today - HOL, SPA, CRO

I don't expect the Dutch to score even five. The Spain result was an outlier, imo and is most unlikely to be repeated. I will happily settle for 2-0 or 3-0.

Come on, Holland crushed Romania with 4-1,4-0 and Hungary with 4-1,8-1 in World Cup qualifiers,in theory scoring a lot of goals today will be plausible.:D

Looks like Yanks can play football, european version ,now who would guessed something like this.USA is indeed the country of all possibilities:D

Ive always said it, if USA took football half as seriously as everyone else does, they would win every world cup easy.

sure

course they would hitch........however given resources/population of USA they could do a whole lot better if they dropped 'silly' games like gridiron / rounders

Well, we're already spread pretty thin through so many other sports. It's going to not only take more millionaires and billionaires pumping money into the sport (which is possible), it's going to take an increase in participation and interest in the youth. Kids today play more than ever before in this country, but not to the level of other sports.

Still, I see indications the sport is on a slow rise, MLS is pretty stable, and other sports stagnant or slipping - like the NBA with all of it's problems and oversaturation, and NHL with it's randomness - that football (soccer) could very well end up the third most popular sport in the US behind NFL and MLB which are way bigger than everything else. And with that, we would certainly be a much more serious World Cup contender.

Pretty funny response, Mark. :)

Future outlook:
(If mankind survives) In the next 20/30 years may real football will decline if they don´t get that concussion(& other major injuries)-insurance problem solved. Thus soccer could take over (given Fifa ends where it belongs; in the dustbin of history) football. But Baseball will never been taken over. It´s national pastime since forever, will be forever...
