oh how much I love the idea of both Spain and NL going out in the group stages, but I don't think it will happen...

Just heard that Cahill can´t play the last Aussie match because he´ll be suspended after two irrelvant (at least that´s what they should be, for ordinary midfield fouls) yellow cards. Great rules  to end a great players career.

No idea on his booking in first match, but Cahills booking here was well deserved, you could make a case for a straight red, on ITV the panel described it as a Roy Keane tackle (he is the guy who deliberately went out to brake an opponents leg)

Netherlands played what they had to,nothing more.I like it,they are a big favourite for the cup now,on the other hand,I never believe them against big teams in semifinals/finals.

You were right man, crazy game, but a win is win and i'm happy with it.If Holland playing like this still scores 3 goals my hopes are still high that this team can go far in this WC.

No Xavi and Pique starting.

I agree with Del Bosque. One more change I would have done was Fabregas in for Alonso.

Big incentive for Chile after they way they game just now finished.

You are right about Cahill, that was looking more like a straight red card.

Watching BBC buildup of Spain vs Chile. The way the voiceover for the Spanish speaking parts is faking a stupid accent is condescending at the very least. I have no problem with voiceovers (although I prefer subtitling) in general but this is very poor.

The worst was when they dubbed Phil Neville to sound like a dull, whining clueless *****.

p.s. do Dutch people have their own TV stations or are you all piking British coverage?

I switch a lot. I watched build-up, game and cool-down of The Netherlands - Australia on Dutch TV but I get bored by the same people saying the same things all the time very quickly. Moreover, the worst commentator of the Netherlands is doing this game on Dutch TV.

Can't imagine why anyone would choose the BBC - they have no live football coverage ordinarily and every 2 years they cobble together the d-team and go through the motions with crap coverage on the tournaments.

You haven't watched Dutch TV obviously.

I would be happy with any TV station just using a commentator that just calls out the names of the players when they're on the ball.

Now you know what us Americans suffer through during our NFL and MLB seasons. To quote MLB analyst (and former player) Mitch Williams:

"Skip Bayless...is clueless on the game of baseball... He'd have to look at the instructions on a jock box to figure out how to put it on."

It would be wrong to bring him up on a cycling forum and not mention when they did Lance Armstrong.

Something along the lines of "but he still was the best because everyone else doped which means if no one doped he still would have won 7 TDFs".

Chile needs to make sure they concede a minimum amount of goals if they lose at all. I can't see The Netherlands without Van Persie winning versus Chile so they need to make the negative goal difference of the Spanish.

Of course Spain may be able to score a lot versus the Aussies.
