No chance. Remco will cruise to gold in the ITT. And otherwise there's still Tarling.
True, it's not like Remco lost the last important mid-length ITT he had vs Ganna.

Besides, Remco won the last world championships by 12 seconds. This is a pan flat 33km time trial. Evenepoel is not a shoo-in - and you're right, it may well be Tarling who takes gold.

It's only 33km? That's lame.

At any rate, doing a the Tour for GC is really bad prep for the Olympic ITT I think. But it's does work well enough for the road race.

Yeah it's a terrible length. But with that in mind (and Remco doing the Tour for GC) I really don't think it's a done deal for Evenepoel. He's still likely the favourite but a totally flat 33km TT with a mix of pure straights and a technical (ish) midsection is probably the time trial that is least suited to him, comparatively. It'll mostly be a test of pure power with a hint of bike handling (quite a few <90° corners where you can accumulate a few seconds).

Can Milesi ride on the track?
Not that I know.
Milesi is a late starter to the sport. He was nursing a football injury doing some indoor cycling and found out he had potential.

I wouldn't touch Tokyo's quartet unless one of them is visibly out of shape.

It's in Italiano but ...
Some reporters using the old technique had positioned themselves next to Daniela Ganna, a beautiful red-haired lady, counting that after arriving her son would stop by her, to hug her, to say something to her. Instead he kept going. He was too annoyed, obviously not with his mother but with himself. However, he greeted Italian President Mattarella, introduced to him by the head of Coni Malagò. Not intimidated but polite, Ganna said: "President, I'm sorry to make you wait in the rain."

Understandable. It was a good effort. I wonder if he should maybe have waited a little to optimise the chance of survival.
Agreed, going all out in the downhill while the peloton was freewheeling 50 meters behind, maybe 5 kmh slower, was not ideal. Still I think it was a pretty close thing, the reason why mvdp goes and sacrifices his own sprint is because it was the last moment to catch him.

See several scenarioes where he bests mvdp. If I were Ganna, bling, jasper and mads would be more annoying.
If he ends up in the last run to the finish line with them, sure.
Thing is, there's a pretty big chance Mathieu has already crossed that line by then.

Very impressed with Ganna's performance this Tirreno Adriatico.

His TT seems to be better than ever, at least on a short course, his consistency during this week was great and of course his climbing performance yesterday was the best of his career.

He also seemed pretty fast in the Algarve sprints and Ineos seem to be on the rise again.

I dare to say that he will win either Sanremo or Roubaix in the next years (maybe already in 2025) and regain the TT rainbow jersey

I wanna see him in RvV.

That said, I think his issue on the cobbles is just gonna be technicality and positioning. I don't know if he has the hard endurance for these kinds of races.
