Hit TT is not enough, one bad day and BANG
webvan said:Good thing Froomey lost 1+ minute the other day, still Wiggo had better crush the ITT...unlike in Spain.
If he can keep his health, Froome will win several GTs...possibly the most gifted rider since Fignon...who was plagued with health issues.
webvan said:Able to outsprint the best climbers in the climbs and ITT with the best, who else has done that since Fignon? S. Roche ? But only one year...and LA of course but we know how he achieved that.

Very true.Forunculo said:And again this Tour we miss a reference from Andy and Contador the proved best climbers last years.
Forunculo said:I saw Wiggo asking him to slow the pace, he was the strongest today no doubt but a climber don't sprint the last 150 m of a climb, that's for the Ardennes classics, but pulling a gap during the climb. And he must endure 3 weeks.
webvan said:Right, but there are no 6km 8% climbs in the classics, it's just that today that's what it looked like in the end after the incredible work from the Sky Team.
Wiggins explained he had asked him to slow down at 1.5km realizing the damage that had been done so that he could keep some energy for the stage victory.

Forunculo said:Those press release by PR are like diplomacy and it's incoherent when Sky and Wiggins allowed Cobo win the race holding Froome. Cobo is a good climber with problems to peak at right time. So nothing special.
woodburn said:Could we see a version of Hinault vs. LeMond if Wiggins gets in difficulty?
maxmartin said:for sure, he already showed he is a real GT contender. At his level, he should not be satisfied working for Wiggins. He should move to OPQS last year, he will be team leader and get paid more. Staying in SKY is a waste of time for him.
Gloin22 said:He signed 3 year contract after Vuelta in 2011
Also, he'll lead the team at Vuleta
Plus I believe he will lead team at Tirreno/Ardennes next year ( hopefully ) + Tour as well ( too mountainous for Wiggins. Will try to repay the help Froome gives him this year )
Porte stated he wants to lead Giro GT battle too. With those performances so far, they actually might give it to him along Henao I believe.
