Unpleasant news, but I'm not sure what to expect at the end.
They've been informed three months ago, in the meantime acted as if nothing has happened, set some attractive goals for 2018....
Good off-season fun, if nothing more.

Given he has said he was going to do the giro, either he is in denial/delusional, has done a pharmacokinetic (PK) study as per what inrng's article has suggested and it supports his case and is confident he will get cleared or he was just taking the pee.

Everyone laughing at Chris Froome, Sky, Dave Brailsford and all the other hypocrites out there that no doubt deserve this fate seem to be missing the bigger picture in that this is AWFUL for pro cycling! A four time Tour De France champion has just been given back an AAF and people are laughing about it like it's funny or good for cycling when it's not funny at all, although it does feel good to be proven right it's not a laughing matter if you're a fan of pro cycling. I suppose the snipers of the world are having a good time with this but personally, I think this is just another black mark on a sport that has too many black marks to it's credit.

I love pro cycling and feel like I've been punched in the gut even though I'm not at all a Chris Froome or Team Sky fan.

Someday, all these doping scandals are going to catch up to the sport, is this the day? :(
That day will be when we will found that FROOME used a MOTOR on ventoux , but in the mind of people with a little bit of intelligence that is a certain thing

I have a little bit of intelligence. I once got a gold star at school to prove it. It's not a certain thing in my mind.
Right you have a bit of intelligence is not a certain thing is an ALMOST certain thing

I know one poster who does not demonstrate any intelligence (or ability to utilize syntax correctly).
Asides from that, I do not think that it is almost certain Froome used a motor on Ventoux.
It goes to show how sad this day has been for me, that I am responding to your cathartic, emotive-laden, unintelligible posts.
However, I do agree with you that Froome has (almost) certainly been cheating. He deserves any punishment he gets, including being stripped of titles and bans.

I think people are wishful thinking that this is the end of Sky & Froome. He will have the defence of it was the doctor and he seems to have the backing of SDB.

Think you could be wrong on that. According to a 'in the know' poster on bike radar DB can't stand CF or his wife and if you look at statement from Sky the emphasis was on Froome not Team Sky, as in throw him under the bus and save Team Sky.

Just realised a potential theory for how Froome's played this last couple of months:

-> News of A sample given to Froome
-> Froome negotiates a deal with the Giro to ride for £2mil knowing he can't ride it
-> Vegni denies the £2mil because of course they would never do that
-> Froome runs off with £2mil and Vegni has no way to get it back without severely hurting the reputation of RCS

Genius.

You're suggesting that any appearance fee is guaranteed regardless of appearance ? Why does this cunning plan require a failed dope test ?

Depends on the deal I guess, normally you'd get paid afterwards this is true. But since they're hiding the deal anything could of happened.

The plan doesn't involve the dope test, the theory was that Froome decided to cash in after he knew he was in trouble by pretending he was going to ride the Giro when he knew he'd never have to and grab an upfront underhand appearance $$$ deal that couldn't be retrieved.

Ok yes yes, unlikely, it's just something that popped into my head.

It was kinda odd Froome deciding to ride the Giro. My thoughts that he knows he can lock this issue up in CAS for a while so more chance riding the Giro ala Contador 2011 and being banned for the Tour.

Great that they finally caught him, I actually thought by now that they only would figure out in the aftermath of his career like LA. Interesting if they will penalise him now... just one year and I think he is done winning GTs. Two years and its certainly over. Pretty much all of us have been more or less sure that something was going on with Wiggo, Froomey and Sky, finally something of note happening!

Reminds me a lot about AC in 2010.

Need a new thread, “Will Froome be juiced up on his return?”.

Dawg appears to push it with the gear. I’d say he’ll double down when he comes back in a year or so.

But I recall the Contador case was based on a extreme minuscule dose caused by an alleged food contamination- type- of- scenario, whereas Froome's case is about testing + for a banned substance TWICE the amount of the permissible threshold limit....

You are correct - Unsure Contador would have been charged by the UCI, except it was leaked to the media - You have to wonder if there were other similar cases to Contador that were let go because there was no leak.

I think it's a lot different.

- Contador was 27 when the positive popped out, he was 29 during the Vuelta he returned in.
- Froome is the product of Sky and Sky alone. Contador had done ridiculous *** on 3 different teams and boring the hell out of races like Sky. 2009 Tour is a minor exeption
- Contador never pushed the "omg we're so cleanz" narrative.
- Contador never had so many people in denial as Froome/Sky.

And where there will be a long record of sub threshold samples tested..

Any explanation will have to account for that as well.
