Yes, I realised I countered Maltiv's point by making a more suspicious one.
Ah well its all ****s and giggles at the end of the day

He got an offer for 100.000 from Sky, an offer from Garmin [Bobby J. is a friend of the clean cycling guru of Garmin] and an offer from Cofidis [Bobby J. also has ties with them, must of course be a coincidence], that's about it.JimmyFingers said:There was no decision to drop him, I think he had an offer on the table, just not a very good one. JV wanted him as did other teams, then he had his breakout performance at the Vuelta and re-signed with Sky.
Of course that in itself is suspicious, a break out performance when your contract is up, but he wasn't about to get jettisoned by Sky.
LaFlorecita said:Put Froome on Alberto's program and he would not be cranking out 800w attacks. That is because Alberto has more natural talent than Froome.
Flo is awaiting Big Dopie rant
thomas dekker was the next off the rank and clearly more talented than wiggins when the road tilted up, and the chronoFearless Greg Lemond said:He got an offer for 100.000 from Sky, an offer from Garmin [Bobby J. is a friend of the clean cycling guru of Garmin] and an offer from Cofidis [Bobby J. also has ties with them, must of course be a coincidence], that's about it.
And then came Pena Cabarga.

Great show, Sky tv should get the tv rights.
To think Froome was the English rider to win the Tour within a period of five years is pretty fun.
So in conclusion, Froome at 23 was good enough to be 14th in a TDF itt. Incredible. At the same age, Contador had won mountain stages in TDR and TDS and had already won several ITT's at world tour level. But sure, a 14th in one ITT is a lot more impressive.Taxus4a said:
ou yeah!
For that reason Froome was better in the ITT of his first Tour than Alberto was.

Please clarify the point you are trying to make.blackcat said:thomas dekker was the next off the rank and clearly more talented than wiggins when the road tilted up, and the chrono

Fearless Greg Lemond said:Good to also see this topic again being hijacked by Contador lovers/non-lovers. Go to the appropriate ones.
you are talking funny about Froome. I am talking about the difference doping makes. you go from a future winner like Dekker, like Fothen, to a nobody. Froome got on a good medical program which allowed his talent to shine.Fearless Greg Lemond said:Please clarify the point you are trying to make.

will dekker ride a GT this year? Vuelta?
JimmyFingers said:But I'm not going to argue that Froome's performances are above suspicion, well because no-one's are
Miburo said:Completely forget about him, what's going with him? i remember that he lost the battle for the white jersey against cunego in tour'06 and well yea that's pretty much it![]()
The Hitch said:Froome's suspicion is nothing like anyone else active in cycling and possibly sport with the exception of wiggins. He turned from a very average jo to world's best stage race overnight. Not early in his career neither but midway.
Straight out of a comic book. he is just a guy living his life and then 1 day he wakes up and realizes he has superpowers.
think he won the u23 world tt. then Cunego pumped him in the final chrono of the Tour to whin the white jersey, and that is ALL about recovery dopingairstream said:I think he simply lost heart, having ridden clean for a few seasons. He is in a 3 division team now.

doping since 16 i would posit.Ferminal said:I remember a conversation at the start of last season based on a Vaughters quote along the lines of TD being in top echelon, an immense natural specimen. I said he would do nothing special and a couple of obvious candidates said he would go very well.
Question would be: is there something else affecting him, or was he doping on RB3? His performances the last two years wouldn't dominate the espoirs.
