Maybe he is not as stupid and arrogant as we all think and he actually acknowledges Alberto and Quintana in good shape can climb on his level? Just maybe?
on his level? then he would still kill them off in the TTs.
they haveto climb better than him in order to beat him.
Dawg is a very ambitious climber. We saw that in the Dauphine. Remember how proud he was to beat Alberto on that MTF?

cycling has shown its true colors.
Team A is superior. Then some doctors and old school doping facilitators move from team A to team B, and suddenly team B is beating team A in the mountains.

there are no TTs. That is the whole point. In 14km he's gonna take max 15-20s on Contador. Tinkoff might even take that back in the TTT.

i see. I hadn't checked the news.
in that case, well, yeah, it might indeed be a fair assessment from Dawg, although i agree with sceptic and noballs that there is quite some irony in it, as Dawg was by far the best climber in 2012 and 2013, then Sky started dropping some staff, and look how things have turned around.

But Dawg & SKY have marginal gains? WTF Happened? Pillows, Pineapple juice, Protein Powder, Alltitude Training, Hand washing. Where did it all go wrong for the Dawg?

Turning off the powermeter and doing an extra 4 hours.

Surely he can do some extra climbing in that time?

The collective problem of the clinic 12 is they never understood froomie's talent. Simpletons!

Elite riders have always suddenly graced grand tour podims. Elite riders have always effortlessly transitioned completely different riding styles. Happens all the time.

"I've got my goals and personally where I want to go is to target the Tour, not just this year but for the next six or seven years.

"And each time to line up at the Tour ready to try and contend for the yellow jersey. I am driven by that goal."

Kind of hard to pull that off if you don't ride, no?

You didn't get the news? He's not a climber any more. Yeah, yeah I know he got a *bunch* of second place podiums at the Vuelta hilly stages, but all that has all changed in 4-5 weeks. He's a different rider now. He's no longer suited to mountains as suddenly as his grand tour podiums appeared.

Seems legit.

But no surprise for sky.. Brailsford after the TDF rated him only as "one of his best riders"...

Thursday’s edition of L’Équipe reports that Froome has been dissuaded from riding the Giro due to the effects the potentially cold and wet conditions in Italy in May might have on his asthma and allergies.

Marginal gain: finding out that the giro might have cold weather.

He's been **** in the cold and wet for a couple of years.
This piece of information has no relevance to a doping discussion.
Talk of allergies and such like just sounds better than **** the giro it rains there.

He's riding the tour because that's all sky care about, there was never any chance of him doing the Giro. He just said some rubbish about not doing the tour as a mini protest against the lack of TT km's.

All the speculation to the contrary is twaddle.

Especially when he rode it in 2009. He rode the Belgian Classics block in 2008. And now cold is a problem.

Less and less makes sense with this guy and we're supposed to believe he's cleans.

when you are not riding for GC, you can even stop 5 minutes to dress on the top of a mountain, or keep you warm clothes on because you are not contesting a sprint in Brugge...

I thought Dawg gets better the more sick he is. Did he not win the tour with badzilla? And then he got cured and now he is worse.

And of course his best performance on the year came when he was at his sickest.

Eh?
I said nothing about him being sick.

Not much SKY chat recently. And rightly so. My own opinion is - Wiggo won the tour in 2012 clean. Poor field, parcours that suited him, strong team and couple of time trials for him to put distance into the opposition.

I actually think Nibali was fairly low octane that year, maybe even close to clean. I also think Contador was low octane in 2013. They were both thinking about being normal.

Then came along the Dawg and he massacred everyone. Alot of pressure piled on both Contador and Nibali from team/sponsors and they went back on whatever juice is floating about now. Hence we have seen both of them come back and dominate in separate events since. I wish we would have seen Froome and Contador take on Nibali at the tour - would have given a better insight.

In summary IMO - Wiggo is clean. Froome is a mutant. Contador thought about being clean then sacked it and the same for Nibali.

Wiggins: 6.4W/kg for over an hour in the final TT of the day.

Not normal.

I would have thought that when he rode it in 2010 would be of more note, because 2009 was an unusual Giro route and 2010 had more of the bad weather.
