So what's the gutfeel? Is Froome doing a Wiggo this year and fading into continental team obscurity or will he come out all limbs blazing, and defeat the might Contador et al?

(Anti)doping-wise, Froome has nothing to be afraid of (Cookson/Zorzoli in Sky's pocket).
Mentality-wise he strikes me as (much) more ambitious/determined than Wiggins.
So he's gonna be in top shape is my two cents.
In the absence of accidents, the battle with Aldirto could be epic.
A Fignon-Lemond type of battle seems centuries ago.
This could be the year.

I'll stick to my year old prediction that he is done for it...

He might have one more good GT in him but then it's over...

I got it (partly) wrong first time around -I do however think he is a changed rider on several fronts and that he will fade..

I don't see why he wouldn't be a mutant at the Tour. Whatever dark arts he resorts to that enable him to climb so absurdly fast, he used it as recently as the Ruta del Sol at gradients that shouldn't suit him. Dr Ferrari had a nice article about that.

The first MTF at the Tour will break records.

Wow, tennis player Sergiy Stakhovsky refers to Froome as a "doping star".
Pretty rich coming from a tennis player. The pot calling the kettle black.
Yes Federer looks like he's been at the AICAR

Mhmm. It would be funny if he stated that he just started with the glutenfree diet of Djopovic. Thus blatantly admits but also testiments to how screwed we have all been by the #insert eastern european racism here#.

Coming after the first rest day and at the end of an otherwise flat stage that is a reasonable expectation.

Froome talks about

-testing in Teide
-Astana
-Tour
-diet/nutrition

It is the testers who insist we depart while they take urine and blood samples from each of the seven Team Sky riders. Over the next hour, Geraint Thomas, Nicolas Roche, Ian Stannard, Luke Rowe, Peter Kennaugh and Wout Poels also filter in and out of the room. They watch as the tab for each sample is sealed on a temperature-controlled container.

They then sign off the sample, which must arrive at the laboratory for testing at the exact same temperature within 24 hours. Nibali’s Astana Pro Team, who are staying in the same hotel and are managed by former drug cheat Alexander Vinokourov, have also twice been tested in Tenerife.
Whatever they're on, they are absolutely confident that it can't be detected.
