Marginal gains are all about calculated risk.

Increase in output due to lighter weight with same power due to thinner fabric + additional % of work before overheating > Risk of decrease in cycling prowess due to contracting skin cancer.

Aye, and the thought of Team Docs leaning out of car windows and applying the factor 12 is not attractive either:eek:

Getting reliable sleep with sunburn that bad is close to 0 without some significant "help".

Sky have dropped the ball and then tripped over it with this one.

But notice that the burn goes all the way up his neck?

Shouldn't Froome, what with his African upbringing and all that, be at least slightly aware of the effects of the sun on human flesh?

Maybe Michelle was just trying to stir things up by posting that pic, but hubby doesn't come out looking all that bright in the end, does he?
(Pun intended)

Team Sky has not invented the theory of sunblock yet. Once they do, Walsh will waste no time in telling everyone that Sky is so attentive of its riders' needs that the riders use special creams and lotions to protect against the harmful effects of the sun, unlike all the other teams that never ever thought of a small detail like this.

Yeah thinking about it. My first few rides in the sun are reddening, but after a while you brown up and can spend more and more time without burning (or not too badly). So I ride accordingly - start earlier and slowly ramp up "time in sun after 9am" over a few weeks.

This looks like he hasn't ridden in the sun at all. Certainly not wearing that kit. He does indeed look a bit dumb, mesh kit or not.

Looks like a training pic: https://twitter.com/michellecound/status/426057885274357760/photo/1

He is British, dude. Or at least he claims to be. White and pasty is as good as it gets.

Sooo, right, like your already-stretching-it-pretty-far joke is that they're applying lotion to each other, which is something we can make fun of because it's kind of gay? Thanks for setting the moral standard here, moderator.
