just wait until his broken leg heals

You think he is riding around with broken/fractured leg? :/

Dude, even a fracture in any bone and you would have a hard time using that limb, let alone ride a bicycle. My friend had a fracture in his arm and he had to use a splint for several weeks.

How/why Froome is permitted to never test positive remains an interesting question.

Using the word 'permitted' makes it a leading question.

Probably more likely that its a combination of the tests not working as well as the authorities would like and Froome having a great doctor somewhere.

My guess would be that somewhere is in the US.

Armstrong/Ullrich was never a fight anyway, apart from 2003. all In 2001, 2004 and 2005 it was clear after the Prologue he couldn't win. Even in 2000 my father when I asked him for a prediction before the Tour that Ullrich won't stand a chance.

Froome and Contador are a lot closer in their level.

No, but his preparation for this vuelta has been far from ideal.

What do you think his main competitors are doing ? Blood bags, micro-EPO, HGH, testosterone patches, combination of the lot or something new ?

Yes and cortisone, weight loss drugs, peptides

I think It depends on the type of fracture. I had a fracture in my arm (radius) and I was able to ride my bike after 2.5 weeks while being extremely careful. His case is much more extreme compared to me though.

Contador and Froome's display is sufficient evidence to stop wondering.

Wait, that's not proof of doping though...

Technically, it is NOT 'proof' of doping and you are smart enough to know the difference. However, it is highly suspicious, which was the point of my post. My statement might've seemed naive, but I don't think anybody can honestly state what the current doping programs of the top riders are. They do seem effective though.

Yeah, fortunately the fracture has healed, otherwise we wouldn't have seen this today :)

As DirtyWorks said you've kinda overlooked the obvious fact that Contador dropped Froome but nevermind :D

No I haven't. It's relatively easy to drop someone after wheelsucking them after they have been riding flat out on the front for 5km. Not remotely comparable to the way Froome was able to drop Purito and Valverde in an instant. It's unlikely Contador would have been able to drop them if Froome had not been there to do it for him.

Both doped to the gills - Froome paced him for 4 kms - I should hope Contador attacked him ffs.

6.3 and 6.4 w/kg for both riders - joke.

6.4 was enough to win the 04 tour.

Well, it was only for 17-18 minutes, but still very impressive with a stage that was that tough. Contador nearly a minute faster than Cobo in 2011 on an easier stage still looks full ***...

Same time in the last 4km though

But given that Cobo was 57 seconds slower over the last 6 km and Alberto is supposed to have been only 2-3 seconds faster in the last 4 km , that means in 2011 they would have climbed from - 6 km to - 4 km a whole 55 seconds slower?
I mean were they freewheeling ? That close to the finish in a decisive stage? 55 seconds slower in 2 km? The pace from Kennaugh then Nieve was good but not extraordinary. 55 seconds slower in 2 km is almost the difference between GC riders and some riders around 80th place. Seems strange somehow.

So much analysis of times.

With 11.5km to go, De Marchi, a rider who has only ever won three races, went solo. He had a lead of 1.10 over the GC group and had been in the break all day. Only two people caught him. He was only 50s down on Contador at the finish. So how fast where they really going?

Which is even more impressive, given that minute was made up in the preceding km, and therefore you'd expect him to be more fatigued.

Is your question rhetorical, or do you need some help with the math?
