Two years later Porte was able to lead Froome over Ax3 and after they dropped everyone, Froome too off... Richie got bored and came in 2nd. It's a pity he couldn't help Contador like that

And what happened to Porte the day after Ax3? Just sayin'

That is a very euphemistic spin on him being dropped and losing a big chunk of time. The same stage Kiriyenka missed the cut. Apart from Froome Sky looked pretty ordinary that day.

No wonder they struggled. Everyone else was working with Ferrari.

Yes, how could they possibly compete against a peloton using Ferrari!?!?

Lucky Froome is so gifted that he can beat all the drug cheat cleans with his crazy adaptive physiology.

Almost. What obviously happening, since we know that Froome is clean; is that whatever doping the other riders are using, it's actually slowing them down !

And then the reason why Froome is able to surpass the times of known dopers, is because of the evolution of the species between then & now.

..

that or sun spots, or pillows or something ...

I doubt Froome or Sky will get busted. His times stink of naughtiness and like Nichole Cooke said " times up climbs" Froomes especially as he his still regarded a clean rider are quicker than doped riders. I don't give a shi5 about wind conditions etc his times are only matched by doped riders. and none of the other riders in his tour winning year never got near his times.
As for Ferrari, I like him. He see's things in a different way and with Armstrong he had a unbeatable machine to push his doping ideas to the max.
I don't have any issues with doping under those circumstances. Much better to be supervised under a Dr like Ferrari or Leinders than risk the sort of disaster that happened to Ricco or Hamilton. It wont stop so lets stop pretending that sporting body's have a handle on it. They don't. the doped athletes are always steps ahead and they still are. Only the stupid ones get caught.

Armstrong got caught.

It will be interesting to see how many of the riders who's gone in UCI's passport net who is on this list of Ferrari clinets. Lots of stupid ones it seems.

Disagree on several levels:

1. Sky will eventually be exposed. All it takes is a disgruntled employee, or someone spilling the beans after one too many pints at a family dinner or in a pub.

2. I have a 10 yr old, very good on a bike, and if you "don't have issues with doping" in what you describe as a controlled environment, I do. I don't want my kid to be someone's Guinea pig, I don't want him to cheat, I don't want him to be around the likes of Ferrari, Bjarne, or Vino.

3. Only the stupid ones get caught? For the most part, it is true. But some smart ones get denounced. Ask Lance ;).

There will always be cheats, I agree with you, and I agree that the powers-that-be are, at best, looking the other way. Time to clean house. Cycling can be clean, or at least clean enough for a clean guy to win.

This suggestion of yours at face value seems sound but I completely disagree.

Ferrari expressed concern that his doping protocol may have lead to Armstrong's cancer.

Hamilton was dealing with a Dr also - just not a very organised one.

And the story goes that LA himself may have something to do with Hamilton's demise

That's because you've failed to fully consider "those circumstances." Ferrari worked for the highest bidder (Armstrong) at the exclusion of some others.

More money = better/safer doping program.

So what would you suggest? That the UCI fund a team of doping specialists so that all riders receive the same expertise? Even with that scenario, there will always be some riders who have more money than others, and with those extra funds, they would seek better quality substances and methods not available to all.

Allowing doping still wouldn't make things "fair." You'd just create a more dangerous and reckless environment—as difficult as that may be to imagine.
(Maybe someone could pass this insight along to whoever it is that seems to have hijacked Scott Mercier's Twitter account.)

Just saw this: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-12-03/chris-froome-to-target-2015-tour-de-france/5935640

"At this point in my career I feel that the Tour takes priority. There may come a time at some point down the line where other races may take preference, but for 2015, it's the Tour."

He added: "It's a climbers' Tour next year, so I'm going to have to work extra hard in the mountains and spend less time on practising time-trialling.

"It's also going to be important to be as light as possible, so our nutrition will play a key role. There will be new tests for me as an individual. That's what I'm looking forward to."

Just saying what?

After dropping all the top tier climbers of the world, he couldn't do much the next stage. So he didn't dope since he had to recover.

Look at history all the big dopers never had an offday right?

Huh? The only thing Porte did wrong was position himself badly when the split occurred. He then held the lead group steady at 1:30 - 2mins for the best part of an hour, while Garmin and Cannondale drilled it on the front. Tactically it was totally inept, but physically? WOW!

Where is that story - google has failed me. And i'm not asking because I want evidence, proof, etc, blah, blah - I just want to read that article / story because it sounds interesting and I didn't think Ferrari had ever commented on things.

Tyler spoke about it in "the secret race" from memory.
