So Froome is lying when says he doesn't know his vo2max because it was never tested.

Froome did a pulmonary function test in Monaco with Dr Stephan Bermon (Vino's former doctor).

Brailsford would obviously know this too, so he is lying when he says Froome was never tested.

So a guy says Froome was super talented, but no reuslts prove that till 26!!!!!

Sorry not buying that.

Barloworld are being portrayed as some kind of amateur team from a 3rd world backwater that had never seen bicycles.

Mauricio Soler won the polkadot jersey at the TdF. They have some decent wins.

They were probably the top Div 2 team in the world in 2007, and just behind Slipstream in 08 and 09. Don't forget that Soler finshed just outside top 10 with a stage and polka dots while Hunter came 2nd in the points classification and also won a stage. They were a solid team with a decent budget that showed well against the Pro Tour teams. They also had an experienced manager in Claudio Corti.

The team had a solid setup, they just lost sponsorship after several positives. They were even looking at going Pro Tour at one stage because they had the riders to do so.

Indeed - they had a future double Tour winner in the team ...

A double future tour winner and they couldn't persuade a sponsor to buy in to the team. Shock!!!!

Not sure how thorough the PF test would be compared with a VO2max - I googled it and it can range from something as basic as a 6 minute walk (must be dead easy to get a prescription then)! If its for an Asthma assessment I don't know if they would blast as hard as for a VO2max? I think PFT is a pretty broad range of tests.

A professional athlete, i guess, would want the full PFT and a sports doctor would give the full PFT.

But obfuscate away.....apu.

Fancy having a potential Hinault on your hands and ignoring that information, not coaching him how to ride a bike properly (I do not buy he did not have skills one bit).

Makes no sense at all.

WCC knew he was a Hinault and Barloworld never tested him to find the same thing?
WCC never told them?

WCC told them and they left him falling off his bike and not finishing coz he couldn't descend?

Stupid. Just stupid.
I withnessed on twitter a photo of Froomey and two Turkish racers at the WCC from the day, wonder what happened to them? No Bernard's I guess, no market to sell.

Sayar is sad.

Not at all - just asking / querying what the PFT might include. Its called discussion and debate, you should try it instead of just throwing long words in from the sidelines in an attempt to shut things down...

Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) is a complete evaluation of the respiratory system.

Now when a professional cyclist does one, do you in your infinite wisdom think they would measure the Vo2max during such a test?

I think the answer would be yes. Oscar Sevilla was photographed doing a vo2 max test the other day.

While JV likes to obfuscate and say Garmin dont do them, Sky do, if they are the masters of detail, they proclaim to be or if they are not the masters of detail ( they lied again), then how are they ringing every ounce of marginal gain to their advantage!

The longer this thread goes on the more obvious it is that Sky dope.

Well Salazar knows this doctor. Has you run hard hard workouts in pollen season, then go for a lung function test to get your inhaler.

Allegedly...

There is no-one in the pro ranks who would be unable to get an inhaler with a prescription if they decided wanted one.
The system is simply too easy to abuse.

Strange, a Pulmonary Function Test is typically a diagnostic tool for lung disease or very chronic asthma - to the point where it's completely debilitating, not what an athlete would be able to perform with.

Measurements are:

Spirometry
Lung Volume
Maximum Respiratory Pressure
Oxygen Desaturation
Diffusing Capacity
Arterial Blood Gases

Ok, they had riders who were WT worthy at the time. The type that were already good, who knew how to ride up hills in a straight line and not to hold on to motorbikes.

'He said: “Part of me thought that I might be able to get to the Alps and still do some more damage at that point.

But unfortunately on the second rest day [after stage 16],I started to come down with a bit of a chesty cough. I have got asthma and my airways were closing up a little bit. I won’t lie, the last few days, I have really been battling, just hanging on.'

Dont suppose he's making way for a TUE explanation ?

good post:

so we have Theze saying he is a backward Kenyan basicly:

and than we have Froome saying he went to an altitude camp in South Africa - expensive for a backward Kenyan I would guess - prior to going to that UCI WTC of Cycling:

page 100 in my epub version of ''Inside Team Sky''.

That does not rhyme.

But I bet Froomeys will is just so must bigger than Tekla's?

Is this the same man who is quoted Froome has the same capabilities Hinault had?

Where Theze says that Froome is poor? And where does it say that staying in a mountain resort in a 3rd world country is expensive like tropical 5 stars facilities?

And you made a book screen shoot for that...

Maybe some journalist will ask him if he had any TUE's in the 3rd week of TDF. would be so much fun if he had, i'm sure he won't lie (if he had TUE) risking to be caught later.

SO, not answering a question can only mean one thing: knowing nothing.

Do you even know who Theze is?

What is his background?

How does he know Froome has the same potential as one of the greatest riders ever?

Come back when u have an answer to that, please.

I know the answers to that and I am pretty sure Theze is not telling the truth there.

Eh, he has a point. A rider based in Johannesburg going to Lesotho is hardly expensive and even Johannesburg is at over (edit: nearly) 2000 meters.
Of course he has a point, never said he didnt, thanks for correcting me.

Point stands: who is Theze?

No, he's already said he didn't apply/use a TUE, do try to keep up.

Where / when has he said he didnt apply for a TUE during the TDF ? and when was that question brought up ? not in the extract above on Sky Sports page. ?
