Agree with Vegan Rob "Chris went out and got on his own program".....Froome wouldnt be criticizing Wiggins, if Wiggins had anything on Froome.
Nibali gets a 2nd Tour if both Wiggins & Froome fall from the 2012 podium.
;)
Me, I am happy enough if it is established that Froome (cleans) would have beaten an unrepentant doper if it was not for the team politics.

On another note, I am sure BC & Sky did their homework and do not want another Landis scenario. Yet Wiggo seems to be getting all the flak coming from basically every direction at the moment. Perhaps this is unavoidable, in the end. Yet I wonder what's the upside for him in all this?

... and Bardet wins this year's Tour not sure that's what Sir Dave was thinking when he said he wanted to win the tour with a French rider!

from meatpuppet "I am sure BC & Sky did their homework" - obviously not the case after all the blunders they,ve recently made. Froome is a clever cookie - i,ve a horrid feeling they,ll never get him.

Wiggins is thick as a plank..as are most cyclists and sportspeople (no time for studying if you are training). Because Froome is a blatant late donkey to racehorse, he had time to go to university.

Apparently, he LOVES Giro route... and after winning Tour while still in good form, will he skip Vuelta just like that?

Giving up the possiblility of his new book titled "The Triple. (What none of the legends of cycling managed to achieve.)"

Who needs recovery when you have Dr. Freeman on your side? If Froome gets a little tired at the Giro, he can just get a little something to level the playing field by claiming his legs are sore. Recovery and peaking are for amateurs without medicals staffs and motorcycle mechanics.

Elissonde. Kenny Elissonde.

Reverse Great Transformation coming: from lightweight climber to lightweight TT monster. Lose even more weight and gain some watts. Wiggo style (7 cortico bike hours before breakfast)

In light of the recent revelations surrounding Wiggins receiving 40mg of Kenacourt, days prior to the 2012 tour, I find it amazing that Froome has come out with his fawning comments today about Sky and the team management. A clean rider would surely be livid with the hierarchy (Walsh told us that he thought Froome would not be happy with Brailsford in an article a few weeks ago) for effectively artificially injecting an extra 15 watts of power into Wiggins and leaving him wondering him should he now be a 4 time champion. Instead we get these comments from Froome today.

“It’s a good fit. It’s a British team and I love the way in which the team works, the support structure, and the work ethic. There’s a real buzz around the group that’s on the road, from the carers to the mechanics, coaches and directors. It’s just such a dynamic group,” he told Cyclingnews.

I find those comments utterly bizarre in light of the Wiggins injections and team members being kept in the dark about PED's administered without knowledge of other. Can the Sky gatekeeper (Walsh) confirm where exactly Froome stands with all the recent Sky revelations because that sure as hell doesn't sound like a very annoyed rider to me.

He has to toe the line, or else Nibali and Quintana become 2-time champions...

ah yes, because you want him to be mad at his current team, after he won 3 tours with them, has a contract until 2018 and without them he wouldnt be where he is now.
:rolleyes:

I was interested to note his reaction to Brailsford, the medical staff and his team management after the only man who finished ahead of him in the 2012 tour (and who he was clearly climbing stronger than during that tour) had, it turned out, used a powerful PED to assist his victory. Walsh told us a few weeks ago that Froome would be upset with Brailsford. The comments below doesn't sound like a rider that is upset!! It is not the natural reaction of a clean rider.

oh dear. he can be upset, no problem, but HE WON´T TELL US.
he´ll be angry with Brailsforf behind closed door. SKY do not need his main rider to make any negative/upset comments about the team. I thought it was easy to understand, no?

It'll be interesting to see what reaction that "Froomey" and Sky get on the roads of France this year (assuming no new revelations come out).... There was a lot of hostility when there was no sign of smoke, now when we see some flames it could be nasty!!

From a comment on a Guardian article discussing where Murray stands in the pantheon of sportsmen and tennis number 1s, the delusion is strong here. However, if Froome won a PR the internet would break.

"Even 3-5 classics would cap it off for Froome. If he could win Liege-Bastogne-Liege, and Lombardy or maybe even Amstel Gold Race several times he may not necessarily need another grand tour.

Of course Tour of Flanders or Paris-Roubaix would make it all more impressive, but the other three are more suited to him. The conversion to cobble classics specialist would take longer."

People. Let me apologize in advance from what I'm about to say.

Anyone that even suggests that Froome and Sky are clean should be immediately banned from any public place, the clinic included. We know, for a fact, that's just not possible. If a person suggests that, after everything that has happened and is known, that person is either unbalanced (and needs medical help) or just trolling. There's no other option. Being pathetically dumb and ignorant and still vomit things as fact also classifies as trolling.

So, it comes to reason that discussing this over and over again is just insanity.

However, what should be of concern to us is if, and why, Froome and Sky have any sort of unfair advantage against their rivals. Yes, because anyone that even suggest that any top rider racing with Tinkoff, Astana, Movistar, Ettix and others is clean, should be banned as well.

For me, this is the meat of the subject. I still don't know about any ounce of evidence that even suggests that Froome and Sky isn't just better responders/smarter with their approach, thus being 100% fair game (as far as world tour results go.). I don't even understand the "hatred". Froome can be a spectacular rider, and for anyone that says that sky are hypocrites and deserve the hatred:

  • Ask Contador about the doping ban, again, racing for teams related with doping during his whole career, having that win Vs rasmussen, show him the interviews he did after he was caught but blamed some meat;
  • Do the same for Movistar and Valverde, and all of Unzué's DS career;
  • Nibali, Astana, Vino, Ferrari?
  • Menchov and rabobank/leinders/boogerd all dutchies;
  • Ettix lol?
  • etc.

So, it seems to be that no one as anything even remotely rational against sky that can't be applied to any WT team and team leader. Thus, proving that's all fair game and that we should be praising Froome as much as we have praised any single big champion. The reason why we/you aren't doing this is just because they are the best.

I'm open to learn something, today. If anyone feels like it, teach me were I'm wrong.

Who we do or do not praise is really and shouldn't be any of your concern. It's purely personal, at least for me. What you're asking is for someone to justify their opinion to you purely based on your own over the top admiration for a particular rider (and his team). Maybe you should be asking yourself why it bothers you so much that your chosen hero, and his team, don't get the same level of devotion and such a passionate following as certain other riders or should I say, one in particular, since it seems there is one rider that you tend to focus all of your envy on. No matter what you say or do it will not alter the level of passion that a rider generates. It's beyond your control.

Now if you really want a more detailed answer to your question as it pertains to Froome and especially Team Sky, check the various threads (in the Clinic)dedicated to them both and the one(s) focused on Brailsford. This will avoid rehashing the same discussions that have been generated multiple times in the past.

Jan Knows: ' Ullrich is not of a mind to cast aspersions on the credibility of professional cycling in 2016.

“I don’t want to think this,” Ullrich said smilingly. “I never think when I see Froome or something, whether he’s doping or not doping."'

Ever the diplomat by the big fella but take that as a big as a hint as you need from someone who knows....
