“Is it a true problem? I don’t think so,” four-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome said Sunday after another day in the Vuelta a España leader’s red jersey.

“It’s a good thing that the UCI checks for the motors. They are doing so sometimes two or three times a day, and that’s good. It’s the same as the work they are doing for anti-doping. It’s good that they are doing the amount of tests they are doing, but I can’t believe that anyone would go to those lengths, but at least they are doing those checks.”

Can you give an example of a 'bizarre' time when Froome has been on the radio; just one instance when the most credible explanation is that he has a remote controlled motor, rather than is communicating with his team?

https://twitter.com/faustocoppi60/status/903640892602556417
It seems pretty clear that he's saying something to Poels there. Maybe they had planned to sprint for bonus seconds, but Froome called it off, perhaps because it was too crowded it wasnt worth the risk. Immediately once he started talking Poels eased off.

What's the alternative theory? That he was using a motor at that point in the race, for absolutely no benefit, and was activating it by talking into his microphone? This kind of nonsense it what allows the Sky media scyocphants and one eyed fans to laugh at the Clinic and dismiss it as full of wacky conspiracy theorists. It detracts from the central and much better supported arguments against Froome.

Yeah, the clinic got it so wrong on loads, Armstrong and others, I mean pffttt, crazy conspiracies about cheating in cycling, CRAZY!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, the thing is that Armstrong wasn't a crazy conspiracy - there was a lot of evidence out there - just as there has been with most of the thing the clinic has got right. Just as there is evidence incriminating Froome for doping - which is where the focus should be.

It's self defeating to dilute the weight of the doping argument against Froome by adding completely unfounded theories about a microphone triggered motor. It is exactly what Sky would want you to do - because it makes you sound ridiculous in the view of the average cycling fan.

The thing was that Armstrong fans were screaming it is all crazy conspiracy theories, "never tested positive", "most tested athlete in history", "big heart", "body changed after cancer", "never take drugs after having cancer", yada yada!

Froome, "bilharzia", "asthma from childhood", "just lost the inner fat", yada yada.......

There is loads of evidence out there for Froome and sky whether it be PEDing their heads off, motor doping or a combination.

Nothing is cycling in regards to cheating sounds ridiculous and if it does you don't know the history of the cheating in the sport!

Indeed, which is why we shouldn't get drawn down rabbit holes - like he's using a microphone as a motor switch. When, in all probablity, he's just using it to communicate. We should stick to the arguments that there is evidence for, otherwise it's too easy for Sky and the MSM to label the Clinic as nutters. At the moment, there is no evidence that Froome is using a microphone or radio controlled motor - other than the fact that there is a possibility that such devices may exist. Which is pretty weak evidence however you look at it.

It is hard to judge the grade of the hill or if there is any slope at that point.
But the man with his arm around his left side hardly seems to be pushing as the bike does seems to accelerate without a pedal stroke.

Does look odd but can't see him using a motor at the stage end unless it purely by habit. It does look strange though.
Need a new link. This one was blocked by Amaury Sports Organisation who ever they are-

Wouldn't be surprised if Froome's amazing results since 2011 are 100% caused by a motor.

The sport has become an even bigger joke than during the '90s.

The only way to stop this is if the UCI hands the riders their bikes at the start-line.

Froome was right. We're being overrun by pinko commie subversives...next comes the rice and the shared dormitories.

Perhaps he can ask Contador for some tips, someone renowned for changing his bike during stages.

But what if Froome is using the mic to ask the team car to activate the remote control ;)

The ASO is the organisation that owns the Tour de France.

Yes, and The Vuelta. Wouldn't they want people to see their races?

THE most not credible performaces by froome are the ones in 2013 , venotux , the tt at 54 km/h you simply cannot believe that , and the fake sugar deficit on alpe d'huez is the most disgusting , i think that you can explain this only by a motor really

the next video after the one Hog posted - is a discussion on spanish tv about Froome and mechanical doping.

Any spanish speakers translate ?
They spend a lot of time talking about the existence of a motor in a hub and then the big reveal: the motor weighs 800g, and Sky's bikes weight 800g more than those of their rivals. So the implication I guess is that the whole team is using them. No data to back up the claim and no other evidence, so they state that they aren't really accusing Froome of using a motor.

By the way, it's Colombian TV, not Spanish. Which is a lot more sensationalist and which obviously has a dog in this fight, considering its their national hero he keeps getting beaten.

Its Colombia.

Which makes a small difference, in that its not the country where the Vuelta takes place. Rather the country where Nairo is from

Anyway they just say that there are suspicions and explain how the motor works. But they don't outright dismiss it like UK tv would. They just say the accusations exist. And slyly add in the fact that Sky's bikes at the Tour were 800g heavier than the others, and that the motors weigh 800.

TBF though maybe they want to tarnish Froome to play up Quintana.

I see what I see; it's pretty obvious that he's using a motorbike to win bike races.

He's not the first one to do so and he won't be the last.

As far as I can tell, using motors is part of pro cycling.
Do steam engines count?

In 1904, Maurice Garin rode on a train during the TdF.

But he got caught, ...so there's that ....

also expect this to happen at la vuelta
Froome to make look it a bit more credible will lose a minute or more due to some" bad "day , he Always did it in every grand tour , he was sick in 2015 but still outclimb everybody but Nairo quintana , are you crazy you are sick and you lose minutes not seconds ,
He did in 2013 , in this year he lose almost a minute in the parade in Paris , he was leading by 5 minutes ending to 4,20 seconds to made look credible
He did in 2016 with the formigal stage , he did in the last tour de france , he will do it in la vuelta , this tell you that HE HAS TOTAL CONTROL of the outcome of the race , Froome could lose only if sky decide to or for crash.
This coud be explain only with the existance of some help from outside Froome body
