this days "educational" means posting videos of people climbing in races in which they been caught doping?

i know there is no doping talk here but this is ridiculous, posting videos of dopers as examples equals doping talk . what "education" is this?

i have no problem with my post being deleted as long "educational" videos of dopers are removed also.
is this trolling or you really dont know where he was caught d....g? if you want i'll delete Tourmalet (where he was clean of course) but other vids are fine.
get your facts right lol

sorry for a little inadequate talk to all

Allright, look. I am not saying about who demonstrated more outstanding climbing shows. It is obviously Alberto as he is at the top of the top cycling for many years, but IMO today (extensively) Froome is a bit stronger and he has a bigger chance to win the Tour. Hopefully, I don't hurt anyone with my humble opinion.

ok,its your opinion, but if i were you i wouldnt bet a house on Froome:)It will be close.

Froome impresses more if we talk about pure strength, let's put it this way. Yes, surely he won't win so many GTs like Alberto, but I'm saying about previous years and about what we'll observe in the following years in my view. Probably, he is not liked by someone, but it doesn't relate to a rider's skills.

Personally I think Froome in the 2013 Tour is the strongest climber I've seen so far. You may disagree with this, but I don't find this laughable.

I know Froome could afford it because of his TT, but let's not forget that Nairo Quintana was the greatest climber in the Tour last year. Had it not been for Porte's exceptional "food delivery"-skills, Froome could've lost even more time on Alpe D'huez. I don't recall Contador being distanced that way in any of the 3 Tours he won...

First of all, I was saying about pure physical strength. Тhis aspect doesn't include tactics, racing ingenuity and other elements that Froome obviously lacks.

As to the strongest climber in that race, there's no correct answer. They were very close

Just read the entire thread :p so funny
Especially those who said Contador was past it in 2013 :p
I think the 2011 Giro was the last time we saw THE Contador. He's obviously done well and won big races since then, but IMHO 2011 Bertie would have curb-stomped 2014 Bertie.

Not at all. He was strong, but not even close to 2014 or 2009 level. Probably closer to 2015 level but leaner.

You missed 2008

2009=2007 > 2011=2014 >>>>> 2008>2010>2015>2012>>>>>>>> the rest/whatever, though 2013, the year in which he was 30, is somehow in there.

Note the >>>>>>>>>>>>>> and the >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Massive difference is the change in competition as well. Competition used to come from Andy Schleck (only in july and even then Contador had more climbing potential, not to mention Schleck's tt pedigree), and all the rest he'd always be able to drop uphill. Now there's Froome, Quintana and Nibali who's been climbing very impressively in 2013-2014. Even Purito and Valverde have been climbed better in 2012-2015 than before

Last but not least, the emergence of some strong teams close the race till the last few kilometers, making gaps uphill a little smaller sometimes.

Then there's the clinic.

2011: Contador
2012: ?
2013: Froome

Ehm, Contador was roflstomping people in that Giro 2011. Unbeatable. Attacked whenever he pleased. He didn't even need any gradient at times. Coulda won 6-7 stages that year, probably! Was it because of his subpar Tour afterwards? I would rate 2011 right behind 2009.

I find it somewhat hard to rate because we don't really know if he could've won the Zoncolan stage, and he faded a bit toward the end of Gardechia, but that stage was insane.

2014 is a toss-up between Nibali and Contador. And 2012 between Froome, Contador and Purito.

And based on the numbers, Horner could have been a serious challenger for 2013. He produced better numbers than Froome and Contador did when they were battling against each other.
