lol. The Brits taking the high moral ground!

For start they are 4-5 countries pretending to be one! But my favorite is that their elite sports funding comes from gambling revenue! How morally corupt is that? What a joke. :(

Yup, we don't all agree with it dude. Never bought a lottery ticket in my life and never will. ;)

So Clancy cleans up over 200m and then is the second quickest over 4000m.

Surely that's wrong

Thomas has been struggling slightly this week. The GB schedule was re-jigged for the final to give him shorter turns.

If Wiggo came in, he wouldn't replace Clancy or Burke, as they are essential to getting up to race pace quickly. You'd have to think that Wiggo would be able to perform the Thomas/Kennaugh role more effectively than they can, given his past TP exploits and "engine" capacity.

Still, as the saying goes, "If my aunt had b*lls, she'd be my uncle" so it's all speculation what anyone else might have done.
mmmm, but did G do the Giro?

no, not actually correct assumption.

I agree that the omnium is about finding a sweet spot balance between all discipline, like you need to do in the decathlon, because most have an inverse correlation in training specificity and genetic excellence.

BUT

its all relative.

Who was Wiggins for track coach, the guy who was at Western Australia Institute of Sport a coupla years back, and who is potted by Cav in his book. Cav hates him like Kenny Van Hummel :D

Anyway, the numbers Clancy was posting, were equal to, or superior to Wiggins.

Clancy is da man. natural or not, nothing unlike the reast of his competitors.

He is merely ranked versus his competitors, not against the world, or Chris Hoy over 200, or Hoy over 1km

Thank you. I suppose O'Shea has the best chances of victory?

He should, but the points race will probably have a few riders taking a lap, so it depends on that really.

Points Race is already over, only Scratch and Kilo TT left.

not WR, OR

the top of the track is not high enough for a WR 200m, men or women, even clinic assisted

the bankings at moscow (where mens and womens WR were set) are absolutely enormous, like riding down the side of a cliff

Trumped by altitude.
Women's record was actually set in Colorado, this June, by Miriam Welte, at 10.64".
Kristina Vogel also equalled Meare's then WR of 10.78".

However, both the men's WR and Junior women's WR, both set in Moscow, in Summer 2009. (this is something I do know about :))

If you think that National Lotteries are morally corrupt, you really need to get out more.

Wow! you haterz really need to get out more and smell the coffee. TEAM GB has taken a more scientific rational aproach to cycling something that most countries will never understand. They have looked at everything like position on the bike and what food they eat. other countries probably still eat waffles all day and only train twice a week I know this because they are foregin.

David Brailsford has also contacted me about my pack a day lung expansion and helmet rear vision mirror resistance training programmmes. The marginal gains filosophy is so clever. Obviously if you find and extra 1% here and there and you get 5% more that will enable you to go at 105% when all the other countries are only able to go at 100%. Its just science people!

Just like lance they are able to act scientifical, rationally and within the rules. I'm even told that they train when it is raining, Italians would never do that!

ed clancy rides a 1.00.981 in the kilo - the last event of the omnium

that time would be competitive against pure sprinters

is this even happening??

Clearly they "train harder" and "work harder" , if so why does is Ed Clancy so bad at all the technical races. Clearly their so called superior training only affects pure power and muscle...

Clancy came third in the Omnium, so if he's suspicious then what about the guys who beat him? He's a sprinter with just enough endurance to ride a decent pursuit. He was on his knees in the longer events.

Clancy got 4 points in the three shortest events and 26 points in the three longer events. Horses for courses.

You mean it's not normal to win the flying lap by 0.5 a second, 1km TT by 2 seconds and come second in the 4km IP by 0.18 of a second.

As JimmyFingers already pointed out, home ground advantage allows you to switch between Type I and Type II muscle fibres at will...

French commentators were mentioning that the Brits were hiding their bikes between events.
