Quite impressive win by Thor, and really deserving, although I'd rather would have had Freire win in the sprint, or Gilbert or Evans after their outing.

BUt all in all, great WC

Good for Davis. He's had a tough season/stretch.

Not sure by how much Hushovd won it by but it was good result by Davis. Carried his Vuelta form. On another day he'd have it (another 30 riders would share that statement too).

156k people on the course. Football Codes Grand Finals are all paltry now. Thanks for the turnout Melbourne and Geelong.

The was just crap in the end, thor was dropped every single time and gets helped back into it by 5 other nations to fluke a victory.

What a ridiculous thing to say.

No fluke about it.

Fabulous day's racing.

He did nothing all race, he just sat in the pack and hoped someone would chase it back for him. His team didn't even do any work to bring him back into the race it was all feire/cancellara's men.

If you told Feire's team before the race Oscar wouldn't podium the sprinters would have never got into the race.

I'm serious. Never watch cycling again. If you hated this race then you hate cycling.

Easily the most exciting race I've ever seen. I only caught the last 2 hours but there was always something new happening, and never any clear idea of who would win until the end.

Thrilling, and a deserving winner.

You mean EBH should have dropped back from the breakaway?

Or possibly the other guy, who is an up and coming sprinter who's only there to learn, should have stayed in the front of the bunch?

This was about as good as a race can get idd.
Hushovd did his job to perfection. 100 meters in the wind is all it takes.

Well i was totaly wrong about Freire. Thought he would get some magic the way he has done so many times before. Said he would beat Thor. Thor crushed it and Freire lost to Breschel and Davis.

And what was that you were saying about Kolobnev in every post DAOTEC ;)

Why would a sprinter with a poor team attack before the end? His job was to suffer & hang in there to end and get involved in the sprint finish. Job done to perfection. Thor is a very deserving winner.

Thor did what Freire was supposed and expected to do.
He beat him in Barcelona in the TDF couple years back in a similar way. Freire is getting old =/
