Figuired as people were busy discussing some minor issue I'd start this thread.

My tip is one of the locals, Michael Matthews. He's in some strong form like his team-mate Luke Durbridge. Go Aussies! :D

Marko Kump from Adria Mobil is a possible candidate for the victory too as well as whoever the Italians decided to choose as leader.

Betancourt is my tip. Him or Beltran. Those climbs will end up being decisive and Betancourt has the ability to outclimb everyone.

The French will look to Gallopin and Hardy.

Matthews deserves favouritism - he's one of, if not the best under 23 cyclist in the World.

1. Carlos Betancourt
2. Michael Matthews
3. John Degenkolb
4. Marko Kump
5. Michael Kwiatowski

Hehe, I made up a solid excuse as well (fysiotherapy).

Then I guess your employers will be expecting a medical certificate from you!;)

Probably Australia's best chance of a gold medal today. We need at least one at these worlds so we can level with the brits. Though the brits seem likely to at least place in the women's road race.

Gonna tip a local and go Matthews. Phinney looked explosive the other day if he is feeling good he could explode from the pack towards the finish

So if the race starts at 13.00 Local time, i make that 4 am GMT. And if it lasts 4 hours + thats 8am gmt finish.

So i could wake up at 6 and watch it.

Edit - Its not being shown on British TV.

FYI if your listening to ONE HD's coverage, Greg Rust has no idea about anything involving cycling so just ignore him.

He is just one of those guys that gets thrown in to comment on all things sport (F1, Moto GP, V8's, Cycling).
