Getting a flat tyre on the ride to work which made me 20 minutes late. Although my supervisor had just driven into the parking lot 5 minutes after I arrived, so there is nothing to worry about.

what a relief...

I hate getting flats and being late to work.

Back on topic, what my complaint is seeing the most blatant form of motorised doping. Forget Spartacus and whether or not he had a small motor in his bottom bracket during Paris - Roubaix, here I was riding home and old mate on a crappy bike from kmart goes flying past me with a motor sitting under his top tube and he wasn't even pedaling. If you're going to do that, buy a moped or a motorbike FFS.

****.

My husband and I went for our walk tonight (unescorted,it was too hot for Kitty).

WE came around a corner and a cyclist came right at us around the corner from the other direction. He was able to swerve in time and just missed us

I could just see the headlines: "Cycling journalist's husband wiped out by hobby cyclist, cycling journalist beats the crap out of hobby cyclist".

Fortunately we were spared that....

Well yesterday I nearly had my foot run over by a car. As I approached an intersection, there was a slip lane to make a left turn (do remember, we are so backwards we ride and drive on the left hand side of the road). So I stop, I take my right foot out of the pedal and put it on the ground (for some reason I always take my right foot out), and I was next to a car, waiting for the traffic to clear, and as it did, the driver went to go and then bumped into me and the front left tire brushed against my right foot. We both stopped 15m up the road, and the driver did apologise.

You wouldn't do that would you susan?

No, of course not, but I certainly wouldn't take kindly to anyone who injured my husband.

It's like the football hooligan who attacked our son this sprin (and he is having surgery becuase of it next week). I would never physically avenge myself on this guy -- don#t want to sink to his level -- but I would like to at least see him. What kind of 30-year-old man smacks a 16-year-old in the face hard enough to send him to hospital, just because he happens to root for another football team?

Was he with other friends?

My son was with some friends. I don't know about the man.

As I understand it, the man spoke to one of my son's friends, making a critical comment about their team. My son wasn't really paying attention, looked over, said, "What are you talkign about?"

The guy looked at him and then quite purposely hit him twice in the face. He knew he had done damage, as the blood immediately started flowihg, and my son didn't really collapse, but went down.

My son's operation was this morning and went fine. He is pretty miserable right now, but that will pass with time.

Coincidentally, the police called yesterday to set up an interview with him, and asked if we want to press charges!

Good news Susan - hope you press charges.

I need to vent about an engineer I'm working on a project with, who keeps making stuff-ups. It's frustrating me like crazy and I really want to tell him he's a ******* useless ****** and I don't give a **** about work ATM, because the tour is on!

This completely puerile headline cheered me up though.

AS a matter of fact, I was there with my son (only child). He has a sore throat, so I can't blame this on him.

And my last cigarette was in June 1992, so I can't blame it on that.

Mom! I can blame it on Mom! She gets bronchitis regularly too!

Susan

Hey Susan, once you have contracted bronchitis, you will always be susceptible to it. I had the flu about 10 years ago, when I started to feel better I did the "Another Dam Race 3 day stage race in AZ. I got bronchitis, the Dr. told me them that everytime I get a cold or the flu, I would be susceptible to getting it. Don't come back from illness too soon and stress yourself, keep your chest and neck/throat area warm and covered on cold days. Bronchitis is an inflammation of the airways and can be set off by a lot of different things, just be aware of that and take the right precautions

well i have every reason to complain.. after 6 months stressing and waiting for the appeal we got there and they adjourned it because they didnt have time. now I have to wait for another date!

That is definitely something to complain about!

My son had his meeting with the police today. Charges will most definitely be pressed. And it turns out the guy who did it is a 29-year-old who works for a private security firm (like rent-a-cop). And he will probably lose his job if he is convicted.

Good.. deserves to be punished..

As for me, on the plus side, my heart rate has dropped from 100-120 in the last two weeks to 85.. On the negative side i now have to wait another two months for all this to be finally sorted out.

He deserves to lose his job regardless.

I would have no problem with that. It's his own fault.

Susan

Glad to see some justice is going to happen. Hopefully! Lets hope their is more justice in bike racing in the future.

Good luck Susan.
