I don't think I have mentioned the trouble with mt attorney and my Title Insurance. The Insurance Company sent me back my $1000 because my attorney never sent in the paper work. I paid him $3000. I sent him this e-mail today

I'm sorry Victor that you have decided that this problem is not worthy of your immediate attention. I will be going to the States next week and filing fraud charges against you in Pasadena California since that is where the transaction transpired. I will then forward copies of the complaint to the title insurance company. I will also bring copies to the Attorney Generals office here in Baja. And I will warn people on all the internet forums for Baja that I belong to be wary of your services as you are no longer trustworthy.
I have been more than patient
I had hoped it would not come to this but you have left no alternative.

My Cats been missing for 4 days, normally after 2 hours it demands fresh food, so im beginning to worry seriously.

Hope your cat has reappeared. Ours disappeared for 36 hours once. It turned out she had injured herself and holed up until she felt capable of staggering home. The vet said they can do this for a week or so if need be.

My personal whinge is that I am no longer in Thailand on holiday.

I've been strongly considering going to either Thailand or New Zealand for my holidays during the Christmas break, but at this stage, the lure of going to Belgium is looking too strong (next March/April that is) at this stage.

Don't go to thailand. Have been there before and didn't enjoy drinking bottled water, being in a humid environment, being in a country of chaos and the high level of pollution!

I've survived Vietnam, so I think I will be fine. And FYI, don't go to Naples, plenty of chaos there.

Wow. Drinking bottled water is such a hardship. I'm really sorry you didn't get to appreciate the Thai people, wonderful food, fascinating culture and countless other aspects of life in Thailand.

Yes, there is some pollution. It's still a wonderful place. I came away thinking that in general people in the Western world (including Australians) are spoiled brats.

Naples is pretty smoggy too.

+100000000

I find the chaotic places to be more exciting, and more memorable. Who knew that crossing the road can be such a difficult task without getting run over?

I just didn't enjoy it. If Craig goes over there I hope he enjoys it but I won't be going back there anytime soon, or bali for a matter of fact. Why do you think the western world are spoilt brats in comparison to the thai people?

A bit of pollution is an understatement. Pollution, heat and humidity are not a good mix!

Having been to germany before, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience but drinking bottled water is something that is not memorable. The mountains in Bavaria is one of the most beautiful areas I have been too and personally didn't notice the pollution as much as others talk about.

I dont know if Spare Tyre means, just the thai people, but its pretty self evident as to why we in the west are spoiled compared to everyone else. We get proper food, have clean water, proper sanitation, proper waste desposal, proper health care, radiators when its too cold, air conditioning when its too hot, eat and drink when we like, how much we like etc, at what temperatures we like.

These are all things billions around the world are deprived of. After growing up in a lower middle class family, i would find it difficult to eat from a plate which hadnt been cleaned before hand, or use a toilet, which wasnt absolutely clean, or eat without washing my hands, or go days without clean water etc.

And while i would find it difficult to do these things, i am pretty much describing the lifestile of the more WELL OFF people in LEDC countries.

ANd since we are talking about south asia, many people there have to catch their own food in very dangerous circumstances, children quit school to help their parents on farms. Politicians scam the population off millions, and criminal organisations roam large. Its almost Hobbes's state of nature in some of these places.

I am spoiled, no doubt about that.

I honoustly think northern europe has the best life standards / conditions the last 30/40 years. Better than USA even (were they don't have proper healthcare and the difference between rich/poor is much bigger). Especially Scandinavia is particurarly awesome according to the statistics

The only thing that sucks here is the weather :p

Yes this is true. Places like Luxemburg, Norway, Finland are the best off.

Why would you do that? German tap water is quite good, not up to Dutch standards, but still extremely well.

Jeez some whining going on here!!

Survived 4 years in Germany drinking the water, nowt wrong with it. The far East is one of the most incredible places there is and where it maybe lacks what we western softies take for granted it more than makes up for in terms of culture, food, geography and many of the values in life the west has encouraged us to forget.

Yeah Australia does rate high in those Human Development Index tables. In fact it came 2nd behind Norway in 2009. I thought some of the lower living standards for some aborigines people would have taken it a bit lower down the list.

No, there aren't overly many 1st generation aboriginal people around any more who live in low living standards. They also get plenty of handouts from the government which is suppose to help them.

I am spoiled, no doubt about that.

This, along with the obsession we have with upgrading to bigger, better & shinier houses, cars, appliances, gadgets, wardrobes, grooming regimes etc etc as if we are entitled to these things. It goes so far beyond actual need as to be absurd and supremely self-indulgent, particularly when one considers the first world's disproportionate consumption of the earth's resources and pollution/carbon emissions which result.
