A doping case is once again a topic of discussion within the peloton and this time it's a former teammate of Peter Sagan at the Pierre Baguette Cycling Team, 20-year-old Czech prospect, Daniel Vysocan. ...According to the UCI, Vysocan returned his positive test for CERA on September 25th, two days before competing in the road race of the U23 World Championships in Zurich, a race in which he did not finish. As of the time of writing, there is no comment from the Pierre Baguette Cycling Team on the matter.

CiclismoAldia have spoken with a former Kelme mechanic of those years who, under anonymity - and visibly disagreeing with what Belda said in his book - and in a recent interview in Marca, wanted to give a completely opposite version of the facts, starting with the accusations to Manzano of having "many drugs" in his possession:

"When you hear Vicente say that Manzano had a box of drugs it sounds to me like that's a lie, the kid was not like he paints him." He explains that Manzano's version of the doping practices allegedly directed by Vicente Belda and Dr. Eufemiano Fuentes is completely true: "I can attest that Jesús Manzano did not tell any lies. At Kelme they were all doping". ...He concludes by talking about something that used to happen before many time trials in which the team participated. He states that he does not know the substance, but he does know what it was called, something that Jesús Manzano talked about in his day: "When there was a time trial all the cyclists went through the coach and were injected with gas bus. I don't know what the product was, I know the nickname was gas bus."

Did anyone see this guy Jack Burke took both the mortirolo and stelvio KOMs. He’s pining after a world tour contract.. same guy that tested positive for a diuretic as a junior. Seems doped to the gils

Of course he is, guy won the Ötztaler Radmarathon twice. Went solo on the start of the Jaufen and raced both that climb and the Timmelsjoch faster than Kreuziger in the pro race a few years ago.
Kinda funny, the guy moved to Neustift im Stubaital, same valley as Denifl and only 8kms away from the later'ss hometown.
An ex of mine was from that valley and her father new Denifl's father rather well.

The guy was busted for using hydrochlorothiazide when he was 18. Funnily enough, the infamous Richard McLaren was very much in his defence - https://jurisprudence.tas-cas.org/Shared Documents/3370.pdf

I'd be very interested to know how he managed to beat Hindley by more than a minute in the last 2 kilometres on the Stelvio, when Dennis was drilling in front all the time, and demolishing the likes of Almeida, Majka, Bilbao, Kelderman, Nibali...

Well the simple answer is this guy started the climb 10 miles into a ride vs at the end of a long mountain stage towards the end of a GT

I don't know, man. The canadian guy started to lose time massively around 13 kilometres, he was almost a minute down and suddenly he made up two minutes. Yeah, the stage was towards the end of the Giro, but Hindley and Tao were fighting for GC, and Dennis was riding as hard as he could to distance Kelderman and Almeida.

Yes, but that was within 1km of the summit.

The guy also rode it with really low temperatures, with rain and snowfall at the top, so not exactly the easiest conditions for him. Apparently he wanted to get the KoM of both sides in one ride, but he stopped because of the weather.

Anyone who dominates such an infamous Granfondo while not being a pro + those climbing times are eyebrow raising.
I mean, I can ride a 2h 5min Stelvio while chatting with a guy for 1/4 of the climb, but that is a crazy performance.

Currently, according to section M2, Chemical and Physical Manipulation of the World Anti-Doping Code, intravenous injections of Actovegin® exceeding 100 ml is prohibited and further serial injections must be at least 12 hours apart. Although the performance-enhancing effects of Actovegin® are still anecdotal, the use of this drug has undoubtedly been widespread in sports for more than two decades.
