The women's race will only be at National Event level next year, but they have hopes to expand it. Probably for the best; it clashes with the World Cup Trofeo Alfredo Binda, so may have struggled to attract a top field. But with Omloop, G-W, de Ronde and Flèche, and with the Ronde van Drenthe week of races falling in April too, we have the beginnings of a pretty serviceable Classics season in the Women's calendar.

The Casselberg is a ferocious little hill. 1700 meters in length with an average gradient of 4.9% and a maximum gradient of 10%.

It's a meh, mostly, less hard than Kluisberg tbh...

OT: Also we once had a teacher who's nickname was casselberg :p She just was a fatty fatty boom boom teacher who's last name was Casselman. Although she was one of the best teachers I've ever had.

And hopefully an increase in tv time. Even a 30 highlights at the end of the men's race be a good start.

Andy Schleck had to go to trial today. He had been stopped by police in February when he was driving at 101 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. He also could not present a valid driver's license.

At first he had received a 350€ fine, but the prosecutor's office appealed because there was no suspension of the license. Today they asked for his license to be suspended for one month in addition to the fine.

Money ? 10 char

I read the team just surprised him the wig&hammer just ahead of the presentation, he didn't know about it and the team just wanted to have some fun. Not everything in life is machiavellian. ;)

BTW it's been written here that Thor was ****ed off at JV for not getting a world champ bonus. Thor himself said it was his own fault for not getting a bonus clause in the contract, and that he doesn't blame JV for any contract stuff. It was in an article some weeks ago, don't remember where.

I think its only for Belgians;)

Edit: or El Pistolero is the judge

You really think I'd ever vote on someone like Bruyneel?

And what tipped you that it's only for Belgians? The simple fact that everyone on the list is Belgian?

pereiro sio defending pro cycling and smashing football right at the wolves place, the AS hypocrites.

the man is on fire:
http://www.as.com/ciclismo/video/pereiro-denuncia-persecucion-ciclismo/20111118dasdascic_1/Ves

jesus he is seriously angry and slamming the truth into those idiots faces.

that guy with the grey hair is seriously ignorant and deserves a few punches in the face. he(pereiro) also calls all of spain ignorants for thinking cycling is the only sport where people dope and says that he hopes fuentes gains the courage( he actually uses the expression "cojones") for telling the whole truth about operation puerto sometime in the future. he also mentions the bags of blood labelled as "campeonato de europa" and says there is not european championship in cycling. also tells his son used to feel embarrassed in front of the neighbours because day in and day out people were at his doorstep asking for his father's blood.

Feel free to summarize the vid.

For the most part they talk about doping in cycling, and Pereiro tries to talk to them and they shout him down and won't let him say a damn thing. He points out a few things that footballers do routinely that cause bans in cycling, and he points out that there are several things where, if a cyclist does something, the press are out there like vultures, but footballers are treated above that.

He mentions a few footballing positives (the main ones being Zinedine Zidane, Pep Guardiola and Carlos Gurpegui, whose case took on almost Valverde-like proportions being delayed and delayed). To which the moustachioed ****** next to him, who's been waving away and laughing off Pereiro's every point (if he even lets Pereiro get more than two words into it before shouting him down) starts counting it up, like "you can only think of 3". Pereiro goes on about the lack of testing and then points out bluntly, in as many words, that everybody at Barcelona is doping and everybody at Real is doping, but the authorities don't have to do anything about it because nobody cares. They bring up Fuentes, and he makes a lot of salient points about Fuentes and how Puerto has been treated and only cyclists named, and he hopes the truth comes out. To reiterate, Óscar Pereiro walked into the most chauvinist of football fan havens, and told them to their face that all their favourites are cheats.

If you want to see how football treats people who talk about doping, watch the first four minutes of the video. If you want to actually hear what Pereiro has to say, watch the last minute.
