"Thanks so much for my team who upped the pace when someone who was ahead of me crashed even though the race wasn't on at that point ."

I can understand why someone doesn't wait in the final of a race, but there was still 50km to go or something in an indecisive stage.

It is Valverde...do you expect any different?

The manager of the An Post-Sean Kelly CT wants to put up a PCT team in next two years, as directvélo reports:

"A moyen terme, nous voulons mettre en place une équipe continentale professionnelle qui sera la prolongation de cette formation. Nous aurons alors deux groupes distincts qui rouleront des épreuves différentes. Nous nous donnons un ou deux ans pour réaliser ce projet ambitieux. Cela dépendra évidemment des possibilités financières que seront les notres"

What a joke of a team - time to get off the World Tour.

They'll hardly be the worst team in the race... Nieve is good, Izagirre has just done an unsung but quite strong Tirreno for sucha young guy, Txurruka is always good for the odd attack.

Don't blame these guys for not being overhyped Talanskys and Meyers.

nieve alone makes it a better squad then many other teams, and having txurruka if he is in good shape is mighty fun in the mountains guaranteed for us :p

I don't know about Txurruka. In the last year or two I don't remember him put in any real attacks, or anyones that lasted more than 10 seconds anyway.

Probably since he had that bad crash in PV.

The Euskaltel hate on this board is getting tiresome. Nieve, Izagirre and Txurruka are more than good enough to animate the race. Nieve was 10th and won the queen stage FFS.

Sometimes I get the impression that some just don't know anything about most riders on that squad, they just see a list of Spanish names, no Sammy Sanchez or Anton, and assume they must all be rubbish.

Almost everyone from the Paris Nice peloton has gotten ill over the past few days or even in the race.

Thomas Dekker has fever too and hasn't trained the last 2 days because of it.

Yeh because in 99% of those races those riders who people dont know dont do anything.
To be honest for a protour team, Euskaltel are not competitive in enough races and that is something that though I like the team, is difficult to argue against.

Did Euskaltel win the queen stage and the Zoncolan stage last year? Is one of the winners in the team this year? If so, they deserve a spot in the Giro.

This doesn't really contradict the point he's making.
