Sergio Henao will be back in action at Tour de Suisse before heading to Yorkshire for the Grand Depart.
Good he has the potential to be awesome. I hope he focus on the late season classics starting with Lombardia and Emillia but also Quebec, Montreal, Piemonte, Torino and Tre Vale Varesine.
A shame he has lost his best part of the season, he would be a tremendous addition to any Sky rooster this year.

Hopes to, all being well.

Very very very far from definate - not even sure its likely until I hear it from someone other than him.

True but i doubt he would say anything about possible schedule without any signs of approval from Sky.

Adding HENao to a rooster would not be family viewing.

I'll get my coat.

I find it hard to believe that Boonen paid Hoste to win a sprint...

He paid Hoste to cooperate, obviously. The two of them still had a long way to go to the line, in that case it makes sense that the winner pays the nr 2.

Yep. That is the most logical conclusion.

Does the winner also pay if there are three riders up the road (rvv 12, pr 08 etc.)?

Sad, but not surprising. Owing to its calendar placement it always struggled to attract the same quality of field as the other Spanish races (I mean a few years ago, before the bottom fell out, not in recent years when weak fields have been universal at them) with top Spanish riders usually disappearing off to the Ardennes, and it often saw some dubious Portuguese continental teams, interesting Colombian teams (Boyacá es Para Vivirla with Freddy Montaña in 2009, Colombia es Pasión with Duarte and Alex Caño in 2010 and EPM-UNE with Juan Pablo Suárez and Giovanny Báez in 2011 being memorable). It also came with one of the most dubious winner's lists ever, with a long tradition of doped winners (Piepoli, Mayo, Sevilla, Koldo Gil, Adolfo García) and associations with doping (the LA-MSS whitewash in 2008, Mancebo winning for Rock Racing in 2009, Zaballa's long escapade and much later referral for doping in 2010).

However, regardless of shadiness, the big problem was clearly the reducing race days. It's traditionally been 5 with a split day, plus the Subida al Naranco was a separate, standalone one-day race from 2002 until 2010 (a hill TT to Naranco was often included in the main race prior to this). So traditionally you had 6 days of racing, a 1.1 and a 2.1. In 2011, the Subida al Naranco was incorporated as a day of the main race, bringing us from 6 to 5 days' racing (this was actually a success, with the small gaps from the final day leading to exciting racing as Zaballa sought to chase Javi Moreno to retain his title); 2012 saw the jettisoning of the traditional Alto del Acebo MTF as the race was cut to 3 days, making Monte Naranco the only mountain stage, an absurdity to anybody looking at a relief map of Asturias, but retaining the split day giving us 4 stages. Last year, they cut it even further, to just 2, with an intermediate stage and then the Subida al Naranco, using only a fraction of the province and removing the ITT. Although they had diaried 3 days for it this year, it was clear the most likely was that it would become a one-day race (like the Vuelta a La Rioja or the Vuelta a Madrid) or disappear entirely.
Great post.

Yeah this thing goes on all the time in cycling, I never understood the outrage at Vino. Everyone following cycling for longer than 3 months knows this, just like they know there is a possibility of clinic reasons.

A lot of the time it's not flat out paying for wins (although that does happen), but just an agreement that the one who wins will pay the other.

According to Rai Radiocorsa Giro 2015 start could be either in Dubai (due to RCS already organizing Tour of Dubai and having local interest) with 1 TT and a crit or Milan for the 2015 World Expo with a similar solution.

The final stage could be in Torino as it will be the 2015 World city of sport and the last stage could have Sestriere plus Colle delle Finestre.

I don't see them staying away from Milan in the Expo year.

Apparantely it's just highlights from last year. :(

I really wonder who is this guy commentation it on Es_PT. He doesn't get one right. Already called Hesjedal: Hesdedal; and Paolini: Paolo.

Leo Konig is out of the Tour of California. The same knee problem that kept getting him yanked from the NetApp lineup before what seems like every other race has flared up again after he actually did manage to ride Trentino. Machado will, yet again, step in as leader.

This injury has completely wiped out the first half of his season and at this point it can't be helping his chances of being in shape for the Tour de France. That would be a bit of a disaster for him and the team.

Better take it safely and not risk his Tour participation. Sad for him. On the other hand, happy for Machado. Looking at the provisional startlist he has a great chance, depending on his form ofc.

At least on Strava he looks good, beating KOM's everywhere. :D

Yes, Machado has done a good job so far in Konig's absence, taking his opportunity to get some eye catching results. If he has the same form, he can get another in California. As has been said a few times, in Konig's absence their season so far has been all about their two new signings.

But it's really disappointing that after his breakthrough at the Vuelta, Konig hasn't had any chance to show any further development. This injury seems like a really persistent one at this point. It's always worrying when a comeback gets pushed back over and over again.

Very bad news,I feel sorry for him,not looking good for Tour.He won't have any racing days,I think he is almost out of contention for top10:(
