Purito is top 3-4 on GC at that point. Deignan is a domestique. Doms have no business coming in trying to take a GC man's line on a descent and exchanging elbows. Purito was right to defend himself. Deignan can **** off.

Ehhm, seriously?

It doesn't matter one little bit where Purito stands in GC or how big a name he is. He has no right to punch any other rider.

I agree with you. But, there is a but.
If Pourito was caught on camera fighting, like the two no names. Do we think he would have been kicked out of the race? I know I don't. Not that it means I think it is fair. But then again, this is pro cycling. Fair is not the first word that comes mind..

Bruno Castenheira died today aged 37. Sad news for Portuguese cycling. His biggest and only (??) win came in 2004, while in Milaneza Maia, finishing 1st in the Road National Champs.

He had retired in 2007.

This definitely isn't news, but if anyone is like me, I get a little sad after the grand tours are done. For those of you with Amazon prime "breaking away" it's available for free. Just watched it for the millionth time. So much cheese you'll need crackers/crisps, but a great way to soothe the end of GT season pains.

Oskar Svendsen is quitting cycling to focus on his psychology studies...he is fed up with all the bad luck he's had this year and needs time to think.

What a waste of talent :(

well i thought if you have above 90 vo2 max then you are instant tour de france champion. who knew...
It's not just the VO2 max (of 97,5). He's also one of the youngest top 5 finishers in Tour de l'Avenir ever.

Also, he has a w/kg at threshold of more than 6 w/kg, which is quite remarkable for a 20 y.o. Only problem is that he sucks at just about everything but maintaining a steady pace uphill, but with his age there was still a lot of time to learn that...

Edvald still has a shot of course. I wonder what MTN can do with him, after all he's the most talented Sky rider. :p

I hope for him he'll focus on his studies. Always the smart move to get away from cycling if you can.

Depends... its good to have other options, but if you're a good cyclist, chances are you'll earn a lot more money than you would otherwise.

No more Tour of Beijing in next year's WT.
Good.
They're looking for an other 'globalised' alternative. Why not something in Japan? They've produced some very decent riders at least.

German shampoo brand Alpecin will be the new name sponsor for Giant-Shimano, for 4 years.

Their slogan? "Doping for your hair". I ain't kidding.
