It's quite funny how many Grand Departs the Netherlands has had since 2009. Only Spain has had more

Yeah I don't know why. Lobbying for GT starts is really 'in' in the netherlands at the moment.

Rather have the cities/government/local sponsors investing in something else, but unfortunately, GT starts seem to be more important. Ofcourse I'm a cycling fan so don't really mind. But if it's wise? I think not

So, stage 1 will have the same finish as the 2011 Vuelta stage, only before it they'll climb the tougher side of El Vivero from Lezama (there are tougher sides, the Monteabril side has a super-tough first half and an easy second half, and also the Larrabetzu side is very steep and the first half is on hormig?n, but Lezama and Galdakao are the main known sides). Stage 2 is the usual Gasteiz reduced sprint type stage. Stage 3 is the same finish as stage 1 in the 2011 race, when Horner went early and J-Rod blew up the climb at the end. Stage 4 is Arrate, only they've moved Ixua (the first time up the climb) further from the finish, so it'll probably be more about that final climb, but on the plus side they've added more climbs to the first half of the stage. Stage 5 is... Aia HTF? Yikes. That's going to scare some people.

An entertaining race will be had, but I do think Purito will surely be looking at this and smiling.

It's now official, Tour M?diterran?en is cancelled.
In Italy it's even worse, both GP Larciano and Giro della Toscana are gone (with Roma Maxima, GP Camaiore and Trofeo Melinda we are now at 5 races cancelled this year).

But who cares, we still have Dubai Tour and Abu Dhabi
