Have just seen on local news here that Tour Down Under will continue as WT in same slot.

I think the contract for 2016 is already fine
do the local news say something about 2017?
That's a tricky call, because the race falls on the last week of the summer school holidays and there is a national public holiday on the 26th of January. This, along with the race's proximity to Adelaide helps with good crowd numbers.TMP402 said:I'd consider moving it back a little in the calendar, perhaps by one week.

Just read on twitter that London despite of applying first instance, in the end declined to host the grand depart offered by ASO in 2017.
Apparently it was due to financial issues as transport for London pulled the plug.

Pricey_sky said:I dont think it was a case of lack of homework, more the fact that the new government are having to cut back massively with thier new budget. It means that money that may have been there for 2017 now won't be, and also the huge loss Yorkshire made putting on the grand depart was the final straw.

This would be by far the biggest company investing in cycling right?

Well yes, that's what I meant by homework and why it would have made more sense to plan it once a proper appraisal had been carried out and funding was more secure.
Samsung? Co-sponsor of MTN this year.Billie said:Deloitte is bigger than Us Postal or 21st Century Fox.
Gazprom is ofcourse bigger but can't really think of anyone else
