Apparently the car was driven by a British national (maybe that can explain the lane invasion, dunno)...

And Degenkolb has been one of the worst affected. :(

That would make sense had she been riding on the wrong lane the entire time, instead of being in the correct one and suddenly crossing over the road to hit the cyclists. Very bizarre.

Speedy recovery to all. Giant will have to rethink their rosters and program.

Jose says that update will be officialy soon after family is informed first, there is definitely 1/2 that are heavily affected, from most sources they seem to be Degenkolb and Haga. Barguil also some injury. Dumoulin and Cuvers reported fine by dutch media.

Now I see a tweet from a Dutch journo that it wasn't Dege who got carried away with a heli.

It was a British guy (tourist probably) riding on the wrong side of the road. Typical.
The same thing often happens with European tourists in Australia and NZ, people just don't realise that they are on the wrong side of the road.

I still can't understand how the driver hit the riders, regardless if they are British or not. It looks like a long stretch of road, if the collision was head-on, how come the driver didn't move away? The other possibility is even more bizarre, when you think the driver moved to the wrong side of the road at exactly the time the riders where coming through, for whatever reason.

They were all stable, we knew that 2 hours ago ( via Giant twitter), we just know who is involved which matches early reports, which doesnt sound good for Degenkolb and Haga.

Agent of barguil says he probably broke his wrist and has big pain in knee.

The riders involved in the crash were Warren Barguil (FRA), John Degenkolb (GER), Chad Haga (USA), Fredrik Ludvigsson (SWE), Ramon Sinkeldam (NED) and Max Walscheid (GER).

All the riders involved in the crash went to two hospitals and all of them are in stable condition.

“Everyone on the team is in shock right now, and there are some major issues that we need to take care of, but we also realize that we have had some luck on our side,” said team physician Anko Boelens (NED). “Everyone is conscious, stable and approachable, but we are waiting for the latest information and consult the doctors in those hospitals about the treatments needed for the riders.”

As soon as more medical information and the prognosis is known, we will provide an update.

In this image it looks like there is a corner behind the heli. Maybe the riders were going towards the corner with the British woman coming through the corner on the wrong side of the road. Barguil's manager said that the driver didn't even have time to brake and the riders couldn't go anywhere.

Degenkolb and Haga are indeed the ones worst injured according to AS.

Translation: There are two serious injuries, Degenkolb (apparently with deep joint cuts) and Haga (alleged broken hip). Both were taken to the hospital by helicopter.

You're right it's our fault for not making the empire even bigger than it was.
