Nice. Tomorrow Para-cycling, monday the road race. Is it getting broadcasted by any chance?

And is there a profile? I can only find the map, but there seems to be some sort of hill.

Cheers.

Pretty sure they always do Lookout mountain since it in Chattanooga.

Edit: Looked at map, it is Lookout Mountain, pretty sure it's something like 325-350m elevation gain in 4.0-4.5km.

Doh. Totally forgot it has been held in Tennessee. Thanks. So it should be quite an open race, and tourtracker should work.

I'm just happy Zirbal got pushed off the podium...

Re:

Thank You!!

Did you make the map based on your knowledge of the climbs and profile?
I tried myself but it was complicated, lol!

Hi, I mapped it myself and added arrows and letters. I hope it helps. (it's missing the first 5km of flat, but I'm not entirely sure where the exact start is)

This year's Österreich-Rundfahrt will be a little bit different, It will start in Vienna and end in Bregenz.
Teamprologue - Wien › Wien (5.3k)
Stage 1 - Mörbisch › Scheibbs (207k)
Stage 2 - Litschau › Grieskirchen (196k)
Stage 3 - Windischgarsten › Judendorf/Straßengel (185k)
Stage 4 - Stift Rein/Gratwein › Drobatsch (205k)
Stage 5 - Faaker See/Drobollach › Matrei in Osttirol (180k)
Stage 6 - Lienz › Kitzbüheler Horn (169k)
Stage 7 - Kitzbühel › Innsbruck (139k)
Stage 8 - Innsbruck › Bregenz (185k)
I dislike the fact that the race lacks an ITT, but the Drobatsch MTF is nice, 16,3km at 7,3%, it's a nice climb.

Yes, we still have the overused Kitzbüheler Horn MTF, but at least this time we have Iselsbergpass and Großglockner right at the start of the stage, not a great stage but better than the usualKitzbüheler Horn stage.

The final stage also doesn't look too bad on paper, it's not very hard but hey, it's always better than a final parade stage.

My source: http://oesterreich-rundfahrt.at/index.php/rennen/auftakt
Edit: The climbs on the final stage are Hahntennjoch (14,1km at 7,8% with a max gradient of 15%) and Hochtannbergpass: (13km at 7% with 1km at 10,9% and a max gradient of 14%)

I don't make a big secret out of the fact that I hate the Österreich Rundfahrt routs and in the first moment I also thought that this is at least an improvement. But now I watched the route more closer I think its probably even worse than in previous editions.
1.) No ITT but a TTT? seriously? why would someone do that? The fact that this race takes place at the same time as the tdf doesn't mean they have to do exactly the same s***
2.) Yeah there are 3 mountain stages and one ITT but all the other ones are pretty bad and mostly flat
3.) The stage to the Kitzbüheler Horn is a little bit disappointing. Thats because the flat between großglockner and Kitzbühel is so extremely long which means that the hardest pass of the Rundfahrt is completely pointless. They could have used the Phyrnpass between these two climbs but I see the problem that many people would argue, this would be too difficult for an europe tour race
4.) Sorry but the last stage isn't almost as great as it seems to be. Yes the Hahntennjoch is nice but there is no way you can attack from so far out. The hochtannbergpass is also a very difficult pass but not from this side. Mayomaniac your profile shows the west side of the climb, in fact they will use the east side.

15 km with 3.7%, thats not very impressive, so I hardly believe someone who leads the race after the dobratsch and the kitzbüheler horn cracks on this climb. I think this is more a 3rd cat. climb than a 1st cat. one.
Ps: Can they please learn to categorize climbs correctly. There is absolutely no doubt the hahntennjoch and the dobratsch are HC and as I already said the Hochtannbergpass isn't even almost 1st category.

Ok, I didn't pay that much attention an thought that it if they rate it as a cat 1 climb it should be the hard side of the Hochtannbergpass

Alessandro Petacchi retires from professional cycling ...
Too bad that he wasn't able to finish the Giro because of sickness.
I'll always remember him for his monster 2003 season, he humiliated all the other sprinters.

Chapeau Ale Jet.

I remember him first across the line at Cagliari in the Giro 2007.

At the beginning of the season he said
http://velonews.competitor.com/2015/05/news/petacchi-the-giro-still-drives-me_369353
“My wife, Anna Chiara, would like me home more so I will sit down after the Giro and talk to her and team general manager Angelo Citracca about my future....
but when it’s over I hope I will be remembered for the man I am off the bike as well as the victories."
:)

Awaiting Rai's Radiocorsa tribute

Re:

The Portuguese National Championship will be held in Braga this year. The road race looks very difficult with the climb of Santuário do Sameiro, that the riders will have to race eleven times and the race actually starting and ending on the hill. This adds up to 4.200 meters of climbing. If Rui Costa comes in form, he can win this with Oliveira and his brother as support.

Italians will do the Milano-Torino in June with two times Superga in the finale. So will the race be cancelled later this year?
