ASO has announced that they will remove their events from the WT calendar starting 2017, therefore, if that really is the case, a WT license is not a guaranteed ticket to the TdF as they will be able to pick and choose.

It should be back in 2017 with a title sponsor, it just gives more time for organisers to search for good money after the Schaden brothers gave up ownership of the race back in September. This can be a good thing.

I'm guessing the part of the article where it says the guy in charge of the state's cycling programme is helping them find a new sponsor could be translated as: the organisers were hoping the state would sponsor the race themselves.
