A greater leap than saying that if Chavanel sat up the break wouldn't have had a chance to make it last week and would certainly have been swallowed by the péloton, and that then Cavendish would absolutely certainly have won the sprint from said péloton? Not sure. Definite leaps of faith required there. All kinds of issues can be created on a run-in like at Sanremo. Especially if an attack group gets caught on a descent and drops like a bowling ball through the remains of the bunch.

If Pisti's argument that it wasn't certain Cavendish would have won was weak, then your indirect argument that Chavanel cost Cavendish the win by not sitting up and letting Stannard go on the Poggio is at least equally weak.

Go and read what he wrote.

If you want to interpret certainty in to colloquial language, then Pisti said it was certain Cav would not have won because AK beat him in the sprint.

Love him or hate him. We do love him in our small "Saganistan". This guy is basically our only pride.

Yeah, I have my opinion and others have there's. But I still fail to see why those other people find his unique victory salutes so objectionable. If it's just because they don't like him showing off, then I would have to agree with Willbick.

Thing is he's not just celebrating his victory, there's nothing wrong with that - everyone celebrates wins. Sagan is different though, he is celebrating in a way to draw attention to the celebration - no one else does that, and it's definitely going to rub a lot of people up the wrong way.

Btw noone screwed up here. The strongest rider won today and you know it, you're just saying the break screwed up so you have a counterargument for that. This Sagan-hating is getting pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Sagan did 5 second pulls before his team mate came through and did a proper turn for him

Well done to Sagan he was handed the win on a silver platter today because the break screwed up just about the same as wheel sucking somebody else to the line really.

Yes he won and people saying he did a Cancellara bit of a difference doing a 30 - 40k attack then a 2k one.
