I really dont get the tactics of the sprinter teams. They began pulling through way to late. Also I dont get it why the other escapees worked so much when they got within the 30 km mark.

I'm kind of a "hater" in regards to Sagan, and I'm not a fan of stuff like him kissing his bizeps etc., but I think the wheelie was alright as a celebration. What would have been arrogant is to mess around like that before the line, which he didn't do as far as I could see.

I am ok with all his celebration. I just want him to be fully exhausted when crossing the line once in a while so that my mind doesnt go down the clinic road...

well said!

on a diff note, Haussler sure knows how to give an interview! D:

"Yeah, I'm ****ing mad," he told Cyclingnews. "I used so much energy just to get back to the front group... ****ing hell, it was a hard race. Especially, the whole time I was just by myself.

"The bloody ****ers just sit on and go: ‘no, no, we've got a guy at the back and all this bull****.’"

how about installing onboard mikes/cameras (instead of that remote-control called team radios), fans would appreciate

I was hoping Heinrich would grab a spot on the podium cause he worked really hard in the break but he ran out of gas near the line but Bozic and GVA also did a fair amount of work. But it seemed that Haussler and the Cannondale riders were the main ones keeping the pace high.

Haussler did at least the last 50-100 km without handgloves, which is really hardcore...
Considering the legs need a lot of blood and the body tends to keep the blood in the core of the body anyways, this can really be dangerous (0 degree Celsius, speed of 35-60 kph for one to three hours).

BTW, Tosatto DNF, so this really had to be a hard race... He finishes almost every race he takes part in, and that for 10 years or so.

:D Could be the only reason, indeed.

He does lots of cross country ski training in St.Moritz most years in December, probably he does this, due to the lower speeds, in T-Shirt, shorts and without gloves, too :p

Phinney with the aero TMR01 on cobbles?

He was doing wheelies on Angliru so you better not wait that he crosses the line exhausted :)

I think Sagan is wonderful and what the sport needs and as for his celebrations more power to his elbow, his biceps and anything else he wants to kiss... i'm thinking of semi exposed breasts. But as for not being tired.. i was concerned that on sunday we were not going to get any kind of celebration.. watch it again, he tried to do something, but was so puffed out he could not.... and then he gathered his strength and we got the wheelie.

I know i make it sound like it took 30 mins to cross the line, clearly it did not.. but the boy is a genius, and when the alternative is (a potentially equally juiced up) boring as f#ck Sky drone attack to the line... I will praise the Lord for Sagan & Chava and anyone who can get out there and go for it.

ps. obviously it's already being discussed in the clinic
