Quite possibly, makes for a fun race, though. And MDVP is being made to chase here, too.I see this as Van der Poel baiting Lidl-Trek to go too hard too soon. Philipsen will win today.
Dont agree, but least it is entertaining. He isn't staying with Van der Poel up the Kemmel two more times, he has a crazy engine for this kind of move, and now Van der Poel needs to both catch and drop him with no teammates in his group while also worrying about Pedersen and Stuyven. Correct move.
If it all comes together at some point, you still have a fresh Stuyven and Pedersen. And it definitely won't be all together come the finish.Dont agree, but least it is entertaining.
There is a chance this comes all together in the end and wasting energy like this is bad.
I think Lidl-Trek are in an odd position where Pedersen, Stuyven, and Milan are all genuinely very fast and could get a podium in a sprint, and there's no obvious 'sacrifice' among them. Skujins would have been a better guy to do this but in this case, may as well use your most inexperienced guy.Dont agree, but least it is entertaining.

Sure, but this is doing nothing more than decreasing their numbers and wasting Milan for nothing. If it all comes together at some point, you still have a fresh Stuyven and Pedersen. And it definitely won't be all together come the finish.
Still think it is poor tactics. They could have gained more advantage to peloton by working together for this part of the race.I think Lidl-Trek are in an odd position where Pedersen, Stuyven, and Milan are all genuinely very fast and could get a podium in a sprint, and there's no obvious 'sacrifice' among them. It's also making MVDP just that bit more tired, which he'll need to be for Lidl to win. Besides, there's a bit of an asterisk re whether Milan will be able to outsprint or hold on to the best at the end of the race.Sure, but this is doing nothing more than decreasing their numbers and wasting Milan for nothing.

Forcing Van der Poel to burn a couple of matches isn't nothing.Sure, but this is doing nothing more than decreasing their numbers and wasting Milan for nothing.
That's fair, but seems to be a let's go all out to tire Van der Poel approach. Maybe hoping Peds or Stuyven can drop Philipsen later, and MDVP too tired to fully chase.Still think it is poor tactics. They could have gained more advantage to peloton by working together for this part of the race.
