An extra month to build some form, for a GT that has more ITT kms (and a weaker field). Makes sense for GT.

Thanks!
Unless he picked being the leader at the Giro over being a simple train wagon at the Tour.I don't see how he'll have any motivation at the Giro.I expect the same outcome as with Wiggins.
Andy Schleck only peaked for lbl and the Tour.Have you seen a more average rider somehow peak for 14 days than Thomas. How is he always so so so bad and then comes good for a week.
Actually it might be good for him. Is there any possibility that this was actually planned way before and set up by Ineos to confuse TJV?

I agree. We should call them the Wu-Tang Killa Beez.
Meanwhile Carapaz gets the short end of the stick. I hope Thomas sees this as an opportunityHe's got a great deal from Brailsford here tbh, course suits him to the tee, especially considering the other TTists who can climb are all going to the Tour
There have been some quotes from Thomas, such as this one, from August 15
"It's been a tough start," he said. "Obviously I was hoping to be a bit better. The numbers are good, I just need to chip off another kilo or so and I'll be perfect."
Egan Bernal out of Criterium du Dauphine with back problem
Egan Bernal pulls out of the Criterium du Dauphine to "rest a bad back," according to fellow Team Ineos rider Geraint Thomas.www.bbc.com

Chip off a kilo in two weeks! That was never going to happen.
Chris Froome lost 4 kilos once in 2 weeks..about 2017 I think.. some comms said so
If his media message today is anything to g by Thomas is looking forward to the Giro like a turkey looks forward to Christmas.....more interested in getting his hair cut
It is possible Ineos have taken away their one chance to win a GT this year wt Crapaz at the Giro
Evil genius maybe just evil after all
I have the same experience. Is it too much effort to simply write "Jumbo"?I wish people wouldn't use TJV for the yellow peril. Every time I see it I read it as Tejay Vangarderen..
And why not? Far bigger riders than him were more than motivated for Giro.I dont see him being motivated for the Giro
