First post updated.
I moved stages 11/14 to 10/13. I really think there will be something between Cervinia and Busto.
Ah, and I cancelled the tag "MTF" of Lago Laceno, since technically it's not an MTF. The climb ends a few kms before the finish. :)

Didn't he do the Ronde once?

More hilly type of cyclists should definitely start focusing on the Ronde van Vlaanderen.

Rumours say there won't be long ITTs, sadly. :(
On the other hand, it seems Civitavecchia will be a stage start or finish (or both)
The TTT should be around 30 kms long.

Well that sucks.

I guess Sammy better do the tour and/or vuelta next year. With a 30km tt imagine how much time the carrots will lose?

I have always said that TTT's have no place in GT's but because for my own selfish purposes I don't necessarily mind if they are in GT's.

these kind of ttt's should be eradicated from grand tours, these ttt from nowadays are a joke,13 km,16 km,30 km.
or you make a 70 km ttt or nothing.i'm for a long ttt once in 4-5 years.
but these are just useless.

This.

Funny how many fans who are new to cycling consider a 30km TTT to be long.

Carrot eradication. I prefer a couple of shortish ITT's of say 40 and maybe 25 k mountain uphill or something.
TTT's suck unless they are short but then its a waste of time watching so you cant win with them.

It's also funny how many fans who are new to cycling consider a 220 km mountain stage to be insane.
Truth is that the lenght of any kind of stage is ridiculus compared to old times.

Why do you want 70k ttts? If there were 70 k tts Nibali wouldnt have to leave Eros Cappechis wheel in the mountains as Killer, Ricco, Vino, Kash, Sella, and all your other favourite riders would be 5 minutes down before we saw the first hill of the race.

Unless you are talking about the time limitation ones in which case, whats the point.

They are long.

Scarponi lost almost 3 minutes in the 2010 one. It eliminated him from the pink jersey race before the race even began.

The fact that there were longer ones in the past doesnt automatically make 30km short.

Its like saying that Mont Blanc isnt a tall mountain because Mount Everest is taller:rolleyes:

Twist it any way it suits you. A 30kms TTT is not a long TTT. It is between one third and one fourth shorter than the classic total number of ITT kms in a GT.

Now do I want the classic 60-70km TTTs to come back? Hell no. I despise TTTs. A 25-35kms one every 4-5 years, that's ok. But not every single bloody year in every single bloody GT. These days it seems GTs go hand in hand to the bloody toilet.

Im not strong at Italian geography and know only climbs that were used since 2003, but it seems like that. The stage through the Passo Giau is good but Zomegnan really accustomed us to mountain extravaganza. I expected more

Wait I'm not sure I understand this... are you saying that if, say, stage 17 finished on top of Giau it would be a harder, better stage?

Sorry.
:)
No, this one must be. Stages with a decent after a hard climb often give a lot of action. Im not satisfied with non Dolomites part of the Giro. The Cervinia looks like the Montevergine. It seems real mountains will start even later than in the TdF. Do you really like this route?
