If phinney gets his tt wish he has no chance at the giro either. But my guess is hell choose it over le tour if only because that will allow him better prep for his home race.
that's pretty much what I meant. I doubt Phinney will get his beloved ITT though

It is said that the Giro on RAI Italian television could move from Sky.

Yes RAI could lose all RCS races for next year. It would be a real mess.

The Calabrian stage all should reach Soverato while before Florence there will be a stop in Gubbio.
Gubbio? Never heard anything about that. As far as I recall it is a stage that was proposed a few years ago. What's your source? (I'm sure I already asked this...)

The Stage from Valloire to Ivrea seems confirmed for either May 20th or 21st. I guess it'll be on May 20th, before the final rest day.

We have a problem then. The third week has one stage too many.

Jeez they really need to put an ITT in stage 7 or 8.

Only if the mountain stages are harder than they're rumored to be. As it stands, though, the bad time trialists will have to attack regardless. The "mountain" TT in particular will create relatively big gaps, IMO.

That's partially true. The MTT will create big gaps indeed. But imho a 40 kms ITT is still needed. This regardless the length of the final one, which I really dislike. If they end in Brescia it could be a road stage though.

there will be one more long itt if rcs are really willing to hook wiggins. though, i'd prefer additional mtf instead of tt.

Actually mtfs are enough. I'd add a descent finish and the ITT; if so, this would be an excellent route (still to see the profiles of the MTFs of course)

The Gavia stage could still have a descent finish, right?

the Gavia should be climbed from Ponte Di Legno, yes, and no one knows if will be a MTF or not. It's probly the stage with less info apart from stage 7 and 8.

I'm guessing yes.
It will be along the lines of the Stelvio stage.
Stages 19+20 both to be variants of this year's route.

For stage 20 I agree with you.
But I find hard to see a stage alike this year's #19 to Val Senales
