So question of the day: was Dumoulin so strong or was Quintana so weak this day? Their difference was a lot smaller in recent TTs.
This is Tom specialty. Plus this course looks very hard and technical. I think Quintana was doomed to lose this time against him.

G was really strong as well.

If he climbs with the best in the remaining stages he'll have demonstrated his ability to win GTs

Dumoulin actually lost time to G in the end. Still mightily impressive - nice time gaps today as well!

Nibali with a good finish, good to see.

Very good from Dumoilin.
It would be a very boring Giro with Thomas/Landa out and Quintana bossing it.

Let us not forget there's another 30k TT in the last day. Nairo and the boys need to go ballistic every time the road goes up.

Quintana will be in fourth place!!!

Im allready amazed that Movistar attacked hard on the Blockhaus instead of waiting for week 3 what Quintana likes to do. Obviously they knew they needed time everywhere possible.

Or just do what Astana did at the Vuelta once.

If Quintana can stay ahead of Nibali and withing touching distance of Pinot, I think he'll be OK with the result today.

People who say he pulled a Wiggins have no clue hwat they are talking abot. They have no eyes in their head either.
You don't see any parallels between Wiggins's 2012 Tour performance, where he climbed very well and also dominated the TT's?

No, because Wiggins dropped 10 Kilos plus, became ultra ultra skinny and yet had the same power as he had before. Dumolin simply improved in the mountains and kept his weight and power.

Mollema wasn't dissappointing. Just decent. Still ahead of Nibali in the GC. Only lost 10 s
He was 10 seconds ahead of Nibali fore the entire time trial and ended up 10 seconds behind. I'd say that's a disappointing way to end the time trial by losing 20 seconds in the last part, considering how much he's improved in time trials.

Thanks a lot for the info.
But Nibali paced himself pretty well. But still a bit disappointing.
Pinot 35 seconds behind Nibali?
