There's a difference between continuing to ride when there is a crash and starting to go full gas as a response to a crash.

But Nibbles' voodoo working wonders again....... Tom better get a priest or something to ward of Nibali's curses, otherwise he'll succumb to Nibali's black magic as well.......

Just tuned in, what have I missed? Who looks the strongest in the break? I was at the biggest cycling event of the day, which was of course the start of the Rás in Dublin Castle.
Too much to describe but its been great from the start. Worth watching the replay later if possible.

Classy move by Tom Dumoulin, unlike other teams that would go full gas in the same situation.
I just hope that Quintana won't feel indebted to him now, that's poison for a race.
So are you saying that Movistar should go full gas in the opposite situation?

That's something they've done in Grand Tours before and have no problem doing it.

I am not saying that they should, but knowing Movistar they will

Why Sunweb isn't going full gas now is beyond me
When you are in the prime position, you profit from norms that reduce the chaotic elements of racing.

Doesn't matter, the ones that attack usually end up winning. Quintana crashed by himself, the blockhaus crash was due to external circumstances. And yet they're waiting now

No, I'm saying I hope Quintana will not make his decision (whatever that would be in such a case) based on the fact that Dumoulin waited here. That's why I would never want a rider to wait for me if I had crashed, it just puts you in an awkward position for the future.

I see it as a sign of weakness to wait for people to get back. Most of the winners from the past didn't

Dumoulin waits because he is confident he will win anyways. Same as Armstrong.

Besides, I very much doubt Sunweb would have been able to out time trial Movistar in that situation..

Fdj and Bahrain would've clearly picked up the pace too had been the race really on.

Based on past evidence they would have gone full gas.

Well, its clearly not about having a fair fight. Then why should they neutralize it? I@d rather win the Giro then the fair play award

In the Blockhaus stage the race was already on. You don't wait when the race is on.
Now in this moment it wasn't on, so you can't compare the situations at all in my opinion.

Back to the race: I'd not be surprised to see Dumoulin attack.

This is a great stage to watch!

Almost has it all and it isn't even over yet. Fireworks still to come I think.
