Everyone is saying that Nairo should had attack, but if I am Nairo and I could make 2 minutes without killing myself I will do it and save energy for the next stages. He still need like 2 more minutes plus he also wants to save for the TDF

Are you saying Nairo poured some dodgy stuff in one of Toms bidons?

For the love of Pete, can we just get past the waiting crap? If you (as a rider in the race) feel some personal obligation to wait for some idiot who can't shift, has to drop a deuce, can't stay vertical, whatever, then by all means wait. But IT'S A BIKE RACE. Get over it. It's not like Movistar upped the pace, it was pretty apparent they actually lowered it until Nib's attacked. Tom D just wasn't going to hitch back on due to fatigue or possibly GI illness.

This. It was a physical problem, not a crash. I hope that Dumoulin goes on and win's the Giro but I don't see anything wrong with what happened. Competeitive sport needs real rivalries and I'd rather a bit of needle between top riders than them all the time genuflecting to each other.

Doesn't anyone but me remember LeMond having a bad stomach and riding over the mountains with it literally running down his legs and stinking to high heaven? He won that TdF!!!
Yes I remember! Surrounded by his teammates who were 'washing him down' with their bidons!
That must've been hilarious and tragic at the same time.

After the "incident" Quintana played it right, but the criticism against him from a racing point of view was before that.

This.

We have a great race in our hands and people decide to talk about this sh!!!t!

And blaming it on Movistar! LOL.

I doubt he knew Tom would stop for a poo break before Umbrailpass while he was still climbing the Stelvio

There has been some controversy or other in the Giro since 2014.
2014 - Quintana pushing on inspite of neutralization.
2015 - Astana pushing on when Contador had a mechanical. Porte Clarke wheel change
2016 - Kruijswijk crash in the Maglia Rosa
2017 - Dumoulin crashdump

Yep and he Never stopped! Eventually he just rode away from his helpers. Even with the @@its he just kept going!

I wanted Nibali to win because of Scarponi and because we hadn't had an Italian winner yet. And because I severely dislike Landa, as a person. What I've found about him isn't pretty.
He comes across as a really nice guy.

I had huge expectations for this stage. Sad it needed Major Tom **** to ignite things.
Giro is wide open.

Why don't you write it here?

Flora is just taking the words of a nutcase stalker as truth. Landa is a nice guy, the woman in question is the one that is unlikable

Or better, did Contador waited EVER?
Yes, many times. Do some research. chaingate is actually the only time EVER he didn't wait, yet he still gets attacked because of it. How different it is for Movistar.

Really, what about Valverde crash in 2012 Vuelta, Landa in Giro 2015...?
I think you'll find it was Sky that pushed on after Valverde's crash in 2012, however Valverde was quick to blame Contador, of course.

Landa was payback. Lovely, juicy payback.

Oh he pushed, both he and his team. Not immediately, but later he pushed, even he himself had a dig at the climb. Purito called his men back when he heard it was Valverde, and just about the same time Contador put his men at the front. I think Valverde knows pretty well what happened there...

Botero told a similar story about Jan Ulrich and how several teammates had to flush it with water.
Yeah, German ESP commentators recalled Jens Heppner telling that story, too.

I think that Nairo wasn't feeling good today, I think that Movistar decided to attack when they drop Winner but Nairo legs just weren't there... And after the incident, they just took the time and hope for a better day this week

People see what they want to see. The main group definitely slowed for a few mins during poo time. Zak then hit the gas. I don't think any one rider deserves any blame for them not completely stopping (it sounds like many think this is what should have been done). TD did well considering and may well still win this race.

What's Rojas on about here?

https://twitter.com/jjrojillas/status/867060843212668935

Can't understand it from google translate.
He's saying there were groups of fans getting in the way on the descent. Not clear whether he means standing on the road, but it kind of implies fans were already riding back down the mountain at the same time the later groups were still descending. Not happy with the organisers.

Wasn't that on the day Virenque dropped him on the Col du Hundsrück and Bölts yelled at Ulle: “Rack ya, ***!“ !?

Rojas totally has a point there. I think it went a lot better than I expected with the crowds on the side of the mountain, but it shouldn't be too hard to design a stage without descending ascent that's climbed earlier

Don't know.
