Btw, who exactly was the one who said the gap opened because of a pee break? Because the guys from German Eurosport said the gap opened because a rider let a gap open up on the descent.

Hatch said in on Eurosport during a bit of an outraged rant. And then subsequently backtracked a bit.

Well yea that's how a gap opens. I think they were saying was that Tom was returning from a pee stop so was in the back of the group when that gap opened up.

Fill me in plz. how did the peloton manage to drop big mouth tom

Either loose bladder Tom was attacked on another bathroom break

Or he was at the back of the group on the climb and got attacked on the descent

Either way (if Gigs turns off) this will be entertaining

Im pretty sure someone heard a rumor on any TV broadcast then posted it, then the rumor went viral just from that one source.. On l'Equipe TV they presume that TD was far back on the group but not on a pee break. Uncertainty at its finest right now, we should know more afterwards.

On Dutch Eurosport they said it came from RAI.

This is surely all going to come back together, but these unexpected harder efforts early in the day could make the final climb more interesting.
I wouldn't be so sure this comes back together. This looks like Formigal all over again
Perhaps, but I think this time the chasing teams are stronger on the flat. If it stays away to the next climb it could be interesting.

The thing is if this does come back together it will heavily favour Dumo if these guys are smashing it at 55kmph for 3hours or so on the flat it will favour him over the little climbers when it comes to the climb at the end.

Yep, pretty poor journalism from some of the commentators. Shoot first and ask questions later.
