He's got it the wrong way round though. Old school is holding onto team cars, taking a train, attacking whenever the opportunity presents. New school is making up a set of imaginary rules and then moaning on social media when not everyone subscribes to them.
Yep. But then again while McEwen was probably my favourite sprinter of all time, and he's a great commentator, but not quite the guy most of the riders in his era would think of in choosing a rightful judge of what's kosher. And he's self-aware enough to know this, to be fair.

Dumoulin said this morning that he was full with adrenaline and said things that were unneccesary. He apologised and said that it doesnt matter wether Nibali likes me or not, because he will attack anyways, but he had to thay true to himself instead of getting into heated unneccesary discusiins.

CyclingNews: "We're hearing that a Sunweb DS has told Italian TV that Dumoulin was not taking a comfort break when the other teams split the race, seemingly contradicting the earlier suggestions of Spekebrink"

Slongo said TD apologised for his words yesterday and that earlier today Movi upped the tempo on the descent and the group split.
Peace between them but still war between TD and Nibali's fans.

Dumoulin is also still learning and I understand his frustation yesterday, but sometimes its better to say nothing and think more.
Then again it spices things a bit up.

In the end there are no big problems, but media and people like to make things a lotbigger then they are.

Dumoulin always speaks his thoughts without thinking of the consequenses. They should give him some proper media training.

Please no.

Agree, we have enough broken records scattered around the peloton.

Seems like everyone has already surrendered the Giro to TD. No action at all!
What, you expect Nibali and Quintana to attack full on the flat? They will never do that.

You can blame the organisers for desigining a stage with 60km of flat before the final mountain

When there are idiots designing the route...

Yup seems like it. Stage 19 of a GT and this is so boring...people are just peddling their way home.

We had an action packed section of racing earlier where Dumoulin could have lost the Giro. They aren't going to just ride away from him on the flat now he's caught up. IF they try they will just hurt themselves on the final steep climb. The only hope for Nibali and Quintana is that the chase back on has weakened Dumoulin and he cracks on the climb.

We should count our blessing, as it's a mountain top finish today. You can't have action at every part of every stage in the mountains, geography and race arganization will play a part. Enjoy the pianissimo, have a nice meal and get ready for a good finish.

No I dont. Its the stage route I guess.

And somehow I feel even the climb will be without much GC action. Nairo and Nibali dont seem to have it or TD is just in sublime form - either ways may not change much :(
