What does Froome talk about on the radio? He seems to talk to his DS more often than other team leaders.

Hopefully we will see attacks on the next climbs.

Peloton is riding snail pace and the break isn't that strong.

Formolo 36x30.
Froome learned a hard lesson in Angliru 2011. He's one of the few using such a short gear, which is the same gear Cobo had that day.

How much time will the break need at the foot of the Zoncolan?

I guess Conti could have a chance with five minutes.

10 minutes based on the riders up front. Maybe a little less for Conti.

Some quick research shows that Conti would in fact need close to 10 minutes. Let's say he's between the 30th and 40th best climber in the race. Based on previous Zoncolan results, those guys finish at 8-10 minutes. Conti would probably put more effort in than the 40th placed rider from the peloton, but will also be more tired from being in the break.

Good choice, I think they should be fine with that. I rode it last year with 34-30, and it was comfortably enough for me despite only climbing at about 4.5w/kg, so they should have no problems unless they blow up completely. It's not like Angliru where the 32 is nice for the long 22%+ sections.
