Dumoulin the giraffe to lose 8 minutes to Yates. At least Chaves can't **** it up for Yates this time. Or can he?

Didn't Simoni attack from quite down the Col and literally made Popovych & Casagrande blow up when they tried to cope with him?Tonton said:I don't know what to expect. i just re-watched the '10 Zonc on YouTube, Basso opening a big Gap on Cuggles between 2.2 and 1.6 km to go, going from a 30" advantage to a minute. The climbers need to stretch Dumo before that to hope for significant gains. I think it will be a great stage, I hope that yaco is right. For sure, it won't mark the end of Il Giro, but it's the first true test as fatigue is starting to accumulate.
Can't wait to quote you again tomorrow when it's other way round (not 8 minutes but ~30 sec.).The Chicken said:Dumoulin the giraffe to lose 8 minutes to Yates. At least Chaves can't **** it up for Yates this time. Or can he?
But the analogy is alright.Stella0596 said:The Chicken said:Dumoulin the giraffe to lose 8 minutes to Yates. At least Chaves can't **** it up for Yates this time. Or can he?
The giraffe? He's not even *that* tall, and then I suppose Yates is a mouse in your analogy?
We expected better from you, something along the lines that Yates bends space-time behind him when he rides through the tunnels so he arrives to the finish while the rest of the bunch goes in a loop back to Ovaro. The Chicken said:Dumoulin the giraffe to lose 8 minutes to Yates. Probably didn't have power meters yet in 2007 so they didn't know their limits.

He would write that he thinks Yates will win easily but he wouldn't insult other riders in every single comment he makes. This is purely about provoking and it won't get any better if you respond to the stuff he posts.
It's the fact that the easier final 2km come after the super steep middle section that makes the difference, most gys are cooked and those who still have something left can extend their lead by pushing bigger gears on the more moderate gradients. The more constant pace on the middle section won't really help Dumoulin that much, drafting is a non factor and if you don't push the same w/kg you get dropped. I hope for a hard pace already on Duron, Astana should make the race hard and I hope that FDJ have saved their firepower for this stage.Tonton said:I don't know what to expect. i just re-watched the '10 Zonc on YouTube, Basso opening a big Gap on Cuggles between 2.2 and 1.6 km to go, going from a 30" advantage to a minute. He hadn't been that good in a long time, but people forget about his performances form 1996 to 2000, nobody remembers that the guy was 5th on the Hautacam on the freaking Bjarne stage!Tonton said:Piepoli Giro '07 was one of my picks in the infamous draftso good that he could afford to give the stage to a team mate.
I like the way you think...it could be not much tomorrow for the top-4, but havoc on Sunday and heart-break for the rider or riders who haven't recovered. Stage 15 could be when things happen.DanielSong39 said:Predictions:
- Esteban Chavez DNS
- 1-2 GC guys will lose minutes (Froome? Aru? Dennis?)
- Time gaps will be small among the rest
- Most of the GC guys and their teams will keep something in reserve. Expect fireworks in Stage 15
- Stage 14 will be where someone loses the Giro. Stage 15 will be where someone wins it (Yates?)
