So what's the point of FDJ being in this Giro if they're not gonna chase for Pithie now. He's not in the first group right?

Why are Polti that commited in the chasing? Do they have a sprinter?

It seems a lot more work to get some tv time now then if they put a guy in the early breakaway.

Sprinters gonna be dead before the last 5kms. Lots of energy being wasted.

Even if this group stays ahead, there won't be any control on that climb. Good chance for riders like Laporte, Trentin, Thomas, ...

Not with such a big group with all the top sprinters, no, but it has happened quite a lot that the intermediate sprints have been used as a launch pad for a breakaway.

Yes, but I mean specifically with all the top sprinters.

Luckily 'Andreas Lund' made it...

It's pretty fun but i feel like sprinters up front are just wasting energy right now.
They are but they're also basically all the sprinters in the Giro. I'm not sure the effort is enough to ruin their chances on the final drag unless it's a lot harder than I'm anticipated.

True, but I think the pure sprinters up front will feel it even more now and have even less chance.
