Geschke was just through live on the bike on Eurosport, and in his opinion the wind is strong enough for echelons - and that is before they have reached the plains.

Looking at the roadside trees I thought not, but obviously he knows better

The wind direction is perfect for it, for 60K after the climb.

The bar has really gotten too low...
Well, with the route and the quality of the last few editions, I don't think we could expect the 2005 or 2010 all timers.
And I think it's mostly fair to judge a race based on expectations before the said race.

P.s. good-to-very good in my scale means 5 or 6.

Roglic I think riding with Del Toro before the top of the climb and any potential wind. Either that or I'm blind and he's just lollygagging in P-Nothing and is about to get dropped.

This Giro has already been way more exciting than last years. Leagues above.
Which only tells you how abysmal the last three editions were. There has been 1 really good stage this Giro. I'm also really intrigued by this race but people are talking about it as if we've seen nonstop fireworks for the last one and a half weeks.

Right. Last year's Giro was historically awful. The most boring GT in my 20 years of watching cycling.

The gravel stage was really a great spectacle. It alone had more entertainment than last year's Giro. Which is a low bar of course.

Yesterday definitely overdelivered. Stage 8 was also pretty good in my book.

Maybe Brandon Mcnulty can spring a surprise and go for the Golden kilometre himself, put some time into his rivals like Chris Harper and Nicholas Prodhomme.

yes, appears to be ok. This stage is status quo. I'm watching on RAI 2 so can't quite catch all the language. Peloton all together, and riding like a Sunday fun ride
