sorry for my fanboyism but this is a much better race for BMC than i expected they would have. I thought they will not be featuring at all with their usual dissapointing displays

This is true. I don't think Morabito has raced anything since Paris-Nice and he was far from impressive there so it is a bit of a surprise to see him climb with the best

Menchov actually podiumed in a stage race, was it Murcia?

yes menchov and sastre are leaders but they are not very consistent and very often perform below par. they cant get you consistent results like AC, AS, valverde and evans. But who knows they might win the giro or vuelta

I had a lot of grief from other forum members for not knowing the past of Philip Gilbert very well and I accepted the attacks for not doing the research. I think you have to do yours on Duarte.

Well Duarte hasn't really shown anything at all on the climbs let alone a sprint on a climb. Scarponi is quite quick and after a tough stage up a climb you'd think he would of beaten him.

Menchov is actually quite talkative. In Spanish.

I've heard many media people say he is one of the most boring people to interview. Same with Sastre.

btw, Morabito was injured in PN.

don't worry about nibali.people who hide their form are scary.just listen how he talks,he's full of self-confidence.he will be a danger in giro.

1. Scarponi2. Machado +7"; 3. Ascani +33", Morabito +34", Pozzovivo +35"

wtf?ascani was in the lead group today?great comeback!

Menchov is not that inconsistent as people think, he usually podiums in a few stage races every year. It's just that this year his preparation hasn't been very ideal.

Forgive him, Duarte doesn't ride for BMC and thus ACF doesn't follow him that well.

Although to say that Duarte hasn't shown anything on the climbs... you could argue that he's shown too much, so far this year.

To be fair, from a European point of view the only thing we knew about Duarte's sprinting abilities is that he lost a sprint to Ivan Basso.

Duarte has shown plenty of climbing ability... but wasn't he outsprinted by Basso in Lugano this year?

I've never thought of Basso as particularly... speedy. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

Keep the moronic comments coming ACF, they get me through to the end of the day.

I'm surprised Scarponi lost to Duate in a sprint. Scarponi is generally quite quick.

GC
Scarponi
Machado +7s
Morabito +34s
Pozzovivo +35s

duarte is quicker and more explosive than scarponi.

Pelucci gave them their 1st win!

I hope not to see Duarte loosing another sprint against Basso again.:p

The thing was that He was too much time in the wind, Basso said it, He had to learn How to let the others works, He doesn't have to be always in the front...

Well... you could talk too much sheet 'bout Rujano but today when He put the killer hammer Nibali and Sella cracked, also was a long attack, He didnt time it very well but even after an attack like that He finished just at 8'... also let me remember you that Scarponi is in form and Rujano is getting there...
BTW nice to see that Fabio is getting his form back... I have to say that I was a bit worried cuz Il giro is pretty close...
