As a compensation, I want this descent next year!

Or an MTTT, like when Kronplatz was abandoned due to rain in 2006 and resurfaced as an ITT in 2008.

A mountain team time trial? Interesting idea, though it kind of puts a lot of pressure on the GC guys' team mates. ;)

I have no problem with the Crostis being removed. It would have been great to see it, but there's no use crying over spilled milk.

I have a problem, however, with the reasoning given. "Impossibility to ensure an optimal sport management at the end of the stage (as the team cars cannot operate normally by following the race course for 37,2 km)" - how stupid do they think people are?
It seems to me that the UCI just wants to show everybody who's in charge. One could argue that eliminating race radios would also make an optimal sport management impossible, yet they did that against heavy protests.
Together with the threats against Vaughters regarding the bio passport (not the right place to discuss this, I'll only say it's plain old blackmail and probably wouldn't hold up in court), they're digging their own grave this way.

Paris - Nice was held without UCI sanction in 2008, did they ban one single of the participants from other races? No.
If the RCS decides it can't be bothered with these nitwits anymore, will the Italian teams still line up? I guess so.
Will that make many other Italian races cooperate with RCS to make a national calendar of sorts? They'd have to, otherwise they're left without most star riders.
Could the other big races then just jump on the bandwagon? They might as well.

Do we have the revised profile/route information somewhere?

I feel bad for the guys who did special training for this stage.

It should still be a great day of racing.

Dont think this will affect the race that much, Rujano and Contador would have lost a good deal of the time gained uphill on the descent anyway and now its gonna be interesting how good Conti and Rujano are compared to Simonis record.

I am still excited about this stage even with the Crostis descent. It will still be the best of the best up there.

What the hell is this. I stayed home instead of going out to ride my bike because I didn't want to risk missing the Crostis.

Way to give us something good to talk about instead of the Armstrong stuff, cycling world.

If I were Zomegnan I would now put Moncenisio before Finestre on stage 20.

IMO they should just make Crostis replace the rest day.

And start every stage at sea level and have it finish at 2000m on a mountain.

That way there can be minimal descending and the Zomegnan can tell the riders "hope your happy".
